I would like to congratulate Lee Kuan Yew for speaking the truth about the fact that Chinese Malaysians are being marginalised systematically. This is a general feeling among Chinese (and Indians) Malaysians. National policies have been crafted systematically to provide ample opportunities for bumiputeras to succeed. Instead of helping the poor of all races, we have seen that rich bumiputeras becoming richer.
Just take the home purchasing discount as an example. A rich bumiputera with a household income of say, RM10,000 per month, is able to purchase a RM500,000 house at a 7% discount. He only pays RM465,000 as compared to a poorer Chinese or Indian (with household income of RM5,000 per month) who needs to fork out RM35,000 more for the house. This is a national policy, and if this is not systematically marginalising certain communities, then what else is?
Chinese and Indian Malaysians are unhappy with the current situation. This is our feeling and it is none of Umno Youth's business to comment on Lee Kuan Yew's statement. Just as the non- Muslims 'have no right' to comment on Islamic issues, other parties, especially Umno Youth, have no right to speak or comment on behalf of Chinese and Indian Malaysians.
Hence, I would like to advise Umno Youth to stop its annoying uproar against Lee Kuan Yew's statement as this is a non-Muslim, non-Malay and non-bumiputera issue. Umno Youth should stop behaving like a busybody and stop commenting as it totally does not have any idea of how the Chinese and Indian Malaysians feel about their home country.
Lastly, I would like to congratulate Lee again for speaking the truth. Nothing is more important than the truth, and I sincerely hope that pious people of all religions and races will stop behaving like hypocrites and start practising what every religion teaches - fairness to everyone.
