I refer to the letter M'sia a commonwealth of races, not a hierarchy and I agree with Tanjung Petir. How come only the non-Malays are considered immigrants? Many of the Malays are from Indonesia but they are classified as bumiputeras including those of Arab stock. They are also immigrants too so why the bias?

I agree that my grandparents are immigrants but I was born here and do not consider myself an immigrant.

The Malays are so proud to shout 'Merdeka!' but they forget that the other races too played a role in making Merdeka possible so these races, too, have as much a right to shout 'Merdeka'. But do they get their Merdeka?

The NEP is supposed to help the less privileged Malays that were falling behind but instead it is now being used to enrich the rich Malays, especially the Umnoputras. After 35 years of NEP, is it still not enough? Why have the Malays not caught up yet with the non-Malays?

Many of the Malays of the 1960s and 1970s have passed on to the next world. Their children should have benefitted from the NEP which means they should be on equal footing with the new generation of non-Malays.

The grandfather gets government contracts, the sons, too, want government contracts, then the grandsons and after that the great-grandsons. The equation is not unlike this - 1 x 2 x3 x 6 x 8 x 10 and so on and so forth

Is the government going to be able to keep giving out contracts? You figure it out.
