We have read and viewed countless articles and letters alike condemning the government of the day for its skewed socio-economic policies that many have accused to be a tool of racial gambit. This has sadly, or perhaps favourably for some, turned our previously harmonious society into such a racist one which I believe has shamed the legacy of our forefathers.

Our beloved forefathers toiled and fought tirelessly to protect and preserve each and every single soul of this land and for them to unite selflessly and to live as one. That was the magnitude of their benevolent sacrifices towards the establishment of this unique country back in the days of independence.

Then came the present era of a driven, dynamic and visionary Malaysian society. The country rose to stardom and became a 'supernova' of economic and social dimensions. Our successes are spoken of in many nations throughout the globe which is a far cry since our sleepy hollow past. By and large, this great economic accomplishment was attributable to the united effort of all Malaysians.

However, the foresight of the forefathers has also seen that future Malaysians may some day clash with one another over rights, religion and wealth. The fateful moment of a total disregard to the sacred social contract has now become more imminent than ever as we condemn and criticise maliciously one another over our socio-economic status. We have become a society of malevolence that will gradually and silently self-destruct.

Our constitution in the eyes of malaysiakini columnists is presumably a piece of trash as they somehow seem to write as though they fought for the creation of this federation and its constitution. Maybe they were there with our forefathers and I therefore could be wrong.

What goodness or greatness could come for a complex society such as ours to turn it into a borderless free society when every single action or speech could undeniably spark an uproar with catastrophic implications? The Western tools of democracy such freedom of speech, universal human rights and many more will bring us to the verge of a structural breakdown and total collapse.

I wish we were more benevolent as our forefathers were and appreciated the importance perpetual unity as oppose to prejudicial unity. Our ancestors were truly selfless and farsighted, all in the name of a united Malaysia. Their almost divine invention was that simple yet sacred unwritten social contract that was implicitly and explicitly accepted to eternity by everyone be they Malay, Chinese, Indian or the other races.

The fabric of this social contract has safely and peacefully wrapped us together during times of great heat as well as during biting coldness. Up and until the sun ceases to beam over us, the seas stop to roar their wrath upon us and the land perishes with us, this social contract must be respected and wholeheartedly accepted without prejudice by every single Malaysian now and forever.

Alas, our greed consumes us as it is true that only the dead have seen the end of wars.
