  • I refer to the letter by A Muslim Woman entitled Muslims shouldn't fall in love with non-believers.

I think the writer has never fallen in love before in her life because when you fall in love, you will sacrifice all you have to be with your lover. Yes, and this includes religion conversion.

Be it Muslim, Christian, Buddhist or Hindu, we are all mortals. Love blinds everything and this is a fact of life. The only difference here in Malaysia is the Islamic one-way street of conversion, otherwise there will be many Malay Christians, Buddhists and Hindus.

Muslim converts will revert back to their previous faith after a broken marriage with a Muslim simply because they were forced to convert to Islam in the first place. When they suffer a broken marriage, they will realise their mistake and hence the need to leave the religion.

If we truly believe in not wanting false Muslims, then please for God's sake do not force religion conversion for marriage. In the end, after all, it cannot be said that others are insulting Islam by converting in and out just because of marriage.
