I do not think that the current TV ads to encourage proper road etiquette are working as they are not shocking enough. You need the imagery of the gory to get the message across into our Malaysian thick skulls. If anything is wrong with the current ads, it's that some of them might be too corny.
I hope the government will also start campaigns in the mass media for the following :-
(i) When looking for a parking space, one should not be allowed to stop one's vehicle to wait for another vehicle that looks like it may be leaving its parking bay very soon. The driver should instead move on to look for other parking bays (which usually are in abundance further ahead, or in the floors below!) so as not to cause a traffic standstill because of the many other vehicles waiting behind him;
(ii) The No Smoking rule in elevators is not only confined to inhaling, but also exhaling! Haven't you come across idiotic smokers who take in their last inhalation and then throw the cigarette just before entering the lift? Then they exhale inside!
(iii) When using elevators, if one intends to go up, one should only press the 'Up' button, not both 'Up' and 'Down'. And vice versa.
