A BN minister at Ijok recently asked the Ijok voters to vote for the BN for their future and not to be emotional. Another minister recently said, 'semua boleh kasi, undilah BN'.

Without realising it, the Ijok people are being held to ransom by BN. They can expect money and development should they vote BN. However if they don't, the opposite is true. This boils down to threatening the Ijok people. It is irresponsible and cruel. It does not speak well for a man who boasts so much of Islam Hadhari, compassion and integrity.

Do the people of Ijok not pay taxes? Are they not Malaysian citizens? Do the people of Ijok not make a decent living and contribute to the society of Malaysia as a whole? Do the 12,000 eligible voters in Ijok not contribute to the economy of Malaysia?

It is unfair and wrong of the BN government to threaten the people of Ijok in such a way. The people of Ijok should be sent a clear and firm statement to the BN government that these kind of threats only worked with the uneducated, simple Malaysians of 20 years ago. Enough is enough.

May the rakyat remember that whatever was spent at Ijok and Machap over the last two months (around RM100 million or more) is the rakyat's money. The hard-earned sweat of the Malaysian people. It is not the BN government's money unless of course the RM100 million came from Umno's coffers. Somehow, I do not think so.
