I refer to the letter Stop labelling me... I suggest that Imnitm should chill out and take a step back to look at the bigger picture of the whole racial situation in Malaysia. What he is feeling now is exactly what has been felt by the thousands and thousands of non-bumis in the Malaysia.

He doesn't like Malays to be labelled as lazy but like him, the Chinese don't like to be labelled as a power/money hungry lot and the Indians don't like to be labelled as 'low class' too.

But, when the 'keris' was raised, the Malays were told that the Chinese were eyeing their power or money and what-not. That was indeed labelling, publicly.

For those non-bumis that are upset with the Malays, it's not their fault. When you can't get into a public university even with good results, when you see bumi students from Mara in their big Mercedes and going overseas, when you see even a small school's toilet contract in a Chinese town being awarded to Malay contractor who ends up producing shoddy work, when you know a colleague of yours enjoys a 10% house purchase rebate just because he/she is a bumi, when you have a hard time trying to be drawn for an IPO, etc - with all this happening everyday and being brought up in this kind of climate, not many people will be rational enough not to have a simmering discontent towards the bumis.

So who's fault is it? I would point my fingers to the government who had the brains to implement the NEP but were 'bodoh' in managing and balancing the non-bumis' feelings as a result of the policy.
