I am shocked that our Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak has decided to play down the recent controversial 'crude' remarks made in Parliament by suggesting that it was all said 'in jest' and people are making a big thing out of it.

Well, Najib, I am more worried that you of all people have chosen to take this line.

If at all he wants to wade into this, one would have hoped he would exhibit more savvy by recognising the comments' bad taste and inappropriateness and then only try to defuse it.

Instead he chooses to see the 'funny' side of it, which calls into question his judgment and frankly displays his lack of class.

Najib seems to have a bit on his plate at the moment, but the king-in-waiting seems to be happily traipsing along oblivious to banana skins on the yellow brick road.

If he is not careful we will definitely see the funny side of things when he slips and falls flat on his face.
