I refer to the malaysiakini report Lawyer alleges interference in murder case .

Even before the Altantuya murder case gets under way, it has highlighted an issue of grave concern.

The issue that needs to be addressed is the reason given by lawyer Zulkifli Noordin for withdrawing himself as counsel for accused Chief Inspector Azilah Hadri.

Zulkifli's assertion that there have been 'serious interferences by third parties' in preparing his case should be viewed with grave concern.

The court, if not the police and the Bar Council, should initiate an investigation into the allegation by Zulkifli with a view to identifying and taking appropriate action against these 'third parties' concerned.

Failure to do so would mean that we are allowing unidentified third parties to subvert the cause of justice in our country.
