    I wonder if the writer realises that the problem which he/she experienced, and which I experienced for a few months, may be solved by a simple solution.

    In my case, I finally called in my own technician after many frustrating calls to the technical department of Streamyx/TMnet. He took just about 30 minutes to find out that the problem related to the configuration of the DNS codes for Internet Protocol under Network Connections.

    Ever since he reconfigured these codes for me, I have had no problems connecting to the Internet.

    Now why couldn't Streamyx's technical department people have told me this much earlier instead of asking me to do various useless things like checking my phone line, checking my modem, telling me that the wireless connection (I use wireless for my laptop) always has these connection problems, switching off power supply or unplugging and plugging again, etc, etc?
