Hong Kong is different from Malaysia despite that both were once under the British administration. Knowing that some members of the Hong Kong civil service were corrupt, they somehow saw the moral need to rid Hong Kong of corruption.

In Malaysia, money politics is entrenched. Umno practises money politics and they pay opposition members to cross over, and they pay runners to do a lot of dirty work. Much of which is known to the police.

In Malaysia, the Anti-Corruption Agency is answerable only to the prime minister to safeguard the interest of the leadership and those who are cosy with them.

The Malaysian parliament is also a sham. We have MPs who behave worse than animals. The police? They are just as bad - inefficient, corrupt and very often they are like bullies..

Government administration? Mostly clock watchers and simply incompetent. Local councillors? Servants who lord over the masters and go on holidays at public expense. Cabinet? We can do without them.
