Embezzlement, bribery and corruption have been around since the dawn of human civilisation. The once supposedly covert activities are becoming aggressively overt and shamelessly public.

They are the world's new respectable phenomena, the social norm, and a chronic epidemic at that. It can be likened to taking drugs. When the person gets addicted, just a little would not be enough. The insatiable appetite becomes larger and larger and no amount of wealth and monies would be considered too big. The momentum moves on and there can be no stopping, for the withdrawal symptom is simply too unbearable.

So, the result is to take more, yes, more. This is precisely what is happening in the world and our country is no exception. Somehow our pathetic addicts are growing bolder everyday, happily plundering our people's asset at all levels and in almost every field of endeavour.

Do our leaders really care? Indeed, who cares!
