What makes Malaysia Today so appealing? It does what the local newspapers are not able to do and makes available cloak-and-dagger stories which the rakyat would never have known. At first, I was skeptical of Malaysia Today's stories. Too detailed to be true.
Then, like self-fulfilling prophecies, they come true almost to the detail. For example Malaysia Today revealed the PM's impending marriage when it was still 'only rumours'.
If the BN government wishes that the rakyat not read blogs and websites like Malaysia Today, then it needs transparency. It needs proper checks and balances so that those who wish to act in darkness and conspire to evil will think twice or at least keep it within a close circle. What is happening now is systemic corruption and what the rakyat is made to hear is spin (spin doctoring).
So as long as there is this twisting and turning, and unnecessary politics going on in government, we will all appreciate Malaysia Today and its revelations, backed up by facts and documents whenever possible. We will all congratulate and support Raja Petra for his informative articles. Keep up the good work.
