I refer to malaysiakini report Bloggers' lies will not affect Umno .

Home Minister Radzi Sheikh Ahmad said,'They should not ridicule religion or the King ... their allegations have no basis at all. It would be good if they could come up with ideas and suggestions for the betterment of the government.'

I find the statement comical and childish.

He claimed that allegations by bloggers have no basis at all. This really tickled me because it was reported by Raja Petra Kamarudin that when Muhammad Muhammad Taib lodged his report against the former, there was no evidence to support his allegation. When he was asked to provide one, he did not know where to look for it.

Fortunately, there was a reporter who volunteered to help him access Malaysia Today on the Internet. The comedy did not end there. He could not find the articles that were allegedly insulting the King and Islam. Doesn't this episode show that Mohammed's allegations have no basis at all? Shame on you Radzi for simply accusing bloggers of lacking in responsibility.

And talking about responsiblity, I find that bloggers are better at it compared to many YBs, especially from BN. The bloggers can argue their case by providing documents and quoting authorities to back their stand. This unlike many YBs who can only brand others by names like 'Stupid' or 'Bocor'. Worse still, some may even seen it fit to unsheath a 'keris' when lost for points - just like what Education Minister Hishammuddin Hussein Onn did.

Equally comical is when Radzi suggests that bloggers should could come up with ideas and suggestions for the betterment of the government. I guess he simply made this conclusion without reading any of the blogs or worse still, he does not know how to access it just like Muhammad Muhammad Taib.

There are so many allegations on Malaysia Today of corruptions and abuse of power by government officials and ministers. And most of the allegations are substantiated by evidence and documents. Yet there was no action taken. If helping the government to clean up its machinery is not for the betterment of the administration, then what can it be?

I feel the power-that-be should be more appreciative of bloggers like Raja Petra and the rest for their tireless efforts to achieve a better country for all.
