Of late, there has been a lot happening in our beloved country Malaysia. Rampant crime seems to be an on-going thing with rapes, murders and corruption cases. Then there are the Mat Rempits, traffic jams and blatant disregard for traffic rules and regulations.

I strongly urge the authorities to look into all the above matters. I believe they all boil down to enforcement, application of law and order and commitment from all levels of authority. This is required to overcome the above problems.

I would like to suggest to all concerned that if the current law enforcing authorities are not sufficient, it is time the cabinet decides to use all other relevant law enforcement agencies to assist in enforcing the law.

If the current laws do not allow for other agencies to be used, I think it is high time the laws be amended so that the use such agencies can be allowed.

This should be done for the sake of protecting the citizens of this country and to gain the confidence of the citizens. It is very clear from the letters written to various local dailies that the confidence of the citizens in the government is deteriorating.

These problems must be arrested and nipped in the bud before they take root. As such, I urge all levels of authorities to take a serious concern of the above circumstances and situations.
