I refer to the malaysiakini report 'Negarakuku' - what's the big deal?

I watched the song produced by this Malaysian in Taiwan by name of Namewee. Now, this is definitely not the Malaysian national anthem. There some similarities here and there but it is definitely not our national anthem. So what is the big fuss all about ?

There are so many songs in this world where one can have similar sounding music or even lyrics but that does not make it the same as the original song. Even songs by the Beatles' have been reworked a million times by different producers and singers with different lyrics but similar sounding music but that does not make these copies original Beatles songs.

So for heavens sake, forget this nonsense about wanting the attorney-general to investigate this Namewee as if the AG has nothing better to do than to investigate a song and see if criminal action can be taken against the producer of the song. What are we all up to?

Do we Malaysians have nothing better to do than to involve ourselves in some youngster's past time and find the time to analyse this and that for nothing at all? My suggestion is to leave the student alone and let him concentrate on his studies. Let us not be petty and make a big issue of some insignificant matter.

I reckon we Malaysians should learn to take things with a light heart and with a sense of humour lest we get drowned with unnecessary stress and sickness. Don't we already see so many Malaysians living with stress-related diseases with no cure whatsoever? When the disease is due to stress then the only cure left is to eradicate the stress. Please get this right, my dear Malaysians.
