Umno's "unity" initiative to PAS and Keadilan confuses the separate identities of being Muslims and Malays. Doesn't Umno know that PAS is an Islamic party for all races?

Umno must not forget that in PAS, there are Chinese Muslims like Anuar Tan and Kemal Koh. Doesn't Umno understand that in Islam and within the ummah , there are not only Malays and Chinese, but also Indians, Turks, Russians, French, Balkans, Africans and other ethnic groups?

So, for an assabiyah and tribal party like Umno to offer a "unity" initiative to a multiethnic Islamic party, it betrays a sacrilegious ignorance of the religion the former claims to profess.

Yes, true Islam rejects assabiyah or ethnic chauvinism and ethnic unity. Genuine Muslims are for God-fearing humanism and universalism, not tribal parochialism or fascism. Leaders and members of PAS too must hold fast to our universalist principles as our commitment to true Islam. We must not be racist or ethnic chauvinists. We must show non-Muslims that Muslims are not the paganistic, predatory, profligate and rapacious Malay nationalists that oppress others. We must separate and distance ourselves from Umno. Only in this way can we Muslims uphold the good name of Islam in the eyes of non-Muslims and the world.

Similarly, Keadilan is a multiethnic and multireligious party that is Muslim-based. There is no reason why Keadilan should respond to Umno's call for "Malay unity". Let Umno, the assabiyah party die naturally for its crimes against the Muslims masses, Anwar Ibrahim and the Chinese. Let everything start anew. Let us re-construct Islam by committing ourselves to non-racism and universalism, without Umno.

Let Umno degenerate itself back to Palembang-Melaka tribalism, but let genuine Muslims progress forward and upgrade ourselves morally and spiritually to become members of the ummah .
