  • Utusan Malaysia on Oct 19 quoted the Anti-Corruption Agency director as saying that the VK Lingam video clip was edited (disunting) therefore it cannot be used as evidence. He shall engage FBI video forensic expert for advice before he speaks to 26 million Malaysians.

Splitting is a process of dividing your video files into parts. For example, you may cut off a piece of video with unlikely scenes (commercials, corrupted video). Splitting process leaves the source files intact, saving the result in the destination file.

The Lingam video clip came from former deputy prime minister Anwar Ibrahim, who has shortened it to eight minutes 26 seconds from the original 14 minutes and 16 seconds to protect the identity of the source. This is 'potong' (cut), not 'sunting' (edited).

Video editing is the process of re arranging or modifying segments of video to form another piece of video. The goals of video editing are the same as in film editing - the removal of unwanted footage, the isolation of desired footage, and the arrangement of footage in time to synthesise a new piece of footage.
