It does look like an election is looming. Rumours, rumours, rumours. I was out driving around in the country a few days ago and there seems to be an awful lot of new BN flags on display.

But it still appears that the government is determined to completely ignore the feelings of the people - I mean the real people, not the BN people. They simply brush them off as a tool of the opposition. Its as though the opposition was something evil, akin to Satan, instead of a safety valve against extremism.

In fact, the government has a whole battery of tactics that they use to denigrate the feelings of the people. They declare them illegal, they attack them with tear gas and water cannons, they arrest and jail the leaders and they use fear, fear and more fear to prevent the people from having their say.

But then there is the election! And as the government says. ‘Malaysia is a democracy ... after all, we have elections’. It’s just a pity that there is no real opposition and that the integrity of the election process is faulty

But I have a suggestion - a means by which all Malaysians can show their outrage at how badly this country is governed. It doesn’t matter which political party you follow or what race you are or how old you are. Just about everyone has their own personal gripe about the government.

My suggestion is for you to show your thoughts on the matter by displaying a bumper sticker on your car. This is just you and your car saying what you think

You can’t be arrested for breaking the law, you can’t be accused of disrupting others’ lives and business, you can’t be accused of lying. Nobody with bombard you with tear gas nor spray you with chemically-laced water. The worst you will get is when someone who agrees with you toots his horn and gives you the thumbs-up

It’s simple. All you need to do is write one word on a piece of duct tape and stick it to your bumper.

The word will be the outrage that offends you most - ‘Corruption’, ‘Waste’, ‘Inefficiency’. Okay, I'll let you write more than one if you feel outraged enough. But make it big enough to be easily read. Get the broadest duct tape you can find.

While your at it why not fly the Malaysian flag as well. After all patriotism is not just for Independence day.

I can’t make up my mind - ‘Cronyism’ or ‘Corruption’. I think ‘Corruption’. Now where did I put my tape?
