I refer to the letter We Muslims are only protecting Islam .

Who does not want to share and propagate his/her own faith which has given heavenly life on earth? The only problem from time immemorial of human civilisation is that personal ego, overzealousness and greed for power has tarnished the spread faiths. Wars, brutal torturing and killings have been done all in the name of one's God and religion.

In Malaysia it is no different as the political force has replaced militant force to subdue citizens to condone the wishes of the majority faith. Worst, it has encompassed racial segregation and abused the political process. Islam is a great religion of human civilisation and so are many others. It needs no championing, it is above and beyond human effort, its divinity will last forever.

Umno and PAS in Malaysia have each used Islam to champion their own interpretation of political Islam. The only course of redemption for Malaysia is to claim secularism and separate the state from religion.

If this comes into reality, Umno and PAS would be extinguished, an end to their causing misery to the people of every religious faith, political following and intellectual belief. The only alternative as now seems to be PKR unless another secular and non-religion based party arises.

More such parties small and big must be registered, as many as possible with eventually all coming under leading umbrella bodies.

Governments must change often with general elections but rights and freedoms of the citizens must be protected by the constitution and not be changed randomly in Parliament by the government of the day.

Leave religion as an individual faith, free to accept, free to renounce and free to refuse. Freedom of worship is already in our constitution; it is only the political and civil labeling and segregation of citizens by race and religion which is grossly wrong that has led to racial and religious problems in Malaysia and eventually retarding the progress of its people and the country at all levels.
