It feels depressing just looking at each passing day in Malaysia. The political scene, the ever rising inflation, the ‘child-like’ mindless leaders running our country, the list goes on and on. Malaysians in general are one big forgiving lot, but again and again, our ruling party has taken the rakyat for a long and bumpy ride to the horizon. With empty promises and thinly-veiled excuses, they couldn't care less with answers for all the wrongs they have done. Have we all forgotten that the almighty God has showered upon the shores of Malaysia boundless heavenly resources like oil, tin, rubber, palm oil, etc? And these belong to the rakyat, not to single individuals or cronies of the leaders. And yet, profit is the number one priority for all these so-call GLCs or corporatised bodies. Shouldn't most of the profit be ploughed back for the benefit of the rakyat? We are already paying taxes for our businesses, salaries, bonuses, commissions, sports, roads, cars, food, you name it, Malaysia has it. If that is not enough, we pay tolls, ‘under table’ money, referral fees or whatever you may call it. You only have to open your eyes wider and you will see all the major developments we have in Malaysia is definitely money-driven. Is this how a country should be run? Fifty long years and we only have the biggest this, the tallest that to boast about? The rakyat is suffering in silence. Yes, the NEP certainly has worked - the rich have certainly got richer. The gap between the Chinese and the well-connected Malays has certainly got closer, but what about the general Malay population? They are still poor and Class F contractors are still pinning for their first contract. Yet our ‘learned and beloved leaders keep saying they are doing this and doing that for the Malays. Let's go for a change Malaysia; 50 years is too long to wait and another 10 years of ruling by the same people will only make Vision 2020 a dream beyond the wildest dream. Let's act now before we really live on trees, eats toads and wear leaves over our crotches whereas our ‘learned and beloved’ leaders sunbathe on white sandy beaches in six-star resorts. Let's make a change before our courts no longer rule but bodyguards with C4 do. Let's make a change before the sons-in-laws or wives of our ‘learned and beloved’ leaders rule. Wake up, Malaysians! |
