So, it’s one out of three. And, this one is now facing two years in detention, without trial, because some parties have decided he is a danger to the nation. Is he a danger to the nation? Or, is he a danger to some people desperately wanting to hold on to the nation?

The recent use of the Internal Security Act has shown it for what it truly is - the internal insecurity act. To be used at whim to serve the narrow interests of those in power and quash their insecurities.

Who wants Raja Petra behind bars? Who has most to lose if he's allowed free to continue his writing? Not me, the ordinary Malaysian. I have been enlightened by his information, his analysis and his perspectives. To me, he dared to speak up when few others did and has contributed much to break the culture of silence and apathy which has enveloped us after years of repression.

If we have the interests of the country at heart, we would see him as a national hero and not a national villain. He spoke up for integrity, honour, truth, unity and spirituality.

I have yet to read an article by him which incited me to feel hatred for my fellow countrymen and women. Nor have I been urged to rebel against the righteous. If anything, Raja Petra has inspired me to love my country more.

It seems to me that our politicians want us to buy into the mindset that open discussion and dissension lead to tension, instability and chaos. In truth, open discussion and dissension lead to maturity, growth and development.

It is a truism that when you rule right, might is yours without the use of force. You will be honoured. You will be loved. The people are not stupid, they never were. Our silence all these years must not be mistaken for stupidity. Our only fault is that we were afraid of rocking the boat. But we no longer feel fear.

So, rule us by righteousness. You will find then that you do not need draconian laws like the ISA. So please, hear us. More than that, listen intently to what we are saying. The rakyat wants Raja Petra Kamarudin freed as soon as possible. Ignore this cry to your own peril.
