What a load of rubbish coming from Parliament. First, the suspension of DAP MP Fong Po Kuan for essentially doing her duty when she raised questions about the speaker not willing to have the CLP tampered results addressed and debated.

What exactly was she 'contemptuous' of? Does she or any member of Parliament not have the right and duty to raise questions about the speaker based on a legitimate issue? Is the speaker not the person who decides what issues to address, and does he not have to give a sound reasoning to allow or disallow issues for debate?

If the Speaker could not take what appeared to be a legitimate criticism against his job performance for failing to give a sound argument to deny debate on the CLP, he should step down.

Instead, what transpired was nothing more than a shameful ganging up by the Barisan Nasional MPs on Fong. The BN MPs must have felt mighty proud of their fine display of democracy at work.

The second piece of rubbish was when de facto Law Minister Rais Yatim made the lewd remark in the debate over MP Fong's suspension. He would later said that he made it in jest. Well, what this showed is what a filthy mind he had in this unprovoked response to an honest comment from MP Kerk Kim Hock. Comparing what MP Fong did and what Rais said, which showed contempt for the integrity of Parliament?

Is Parliament not a place for debating pressing social concerns such as the CLP scandal? Is it a place where lewd remarks are acceptable from the ruling party?
