Religious? Najib must learn from Tok Guru

your say ‘Umno/BN went ballistic against PAS in Terengganu in a recent by-election and now he is saying it is a ‘religious obligation’ to have unity. Najib should take lessons from a truly qualified and sincere master.’

On PM: 'A religious duty to have unity talks'

Thomson: I remember very well that Indonesian song ‘Madu di tangan kanan, racun di tangan kiri ku’.

Seems to me this song suits Najib like a body glove.

He has elevated himself from a politician to a ‘religious man’ to suit the occasion.

Umno/BN went ballistic against PAS in Terengganu in a recent by-election and now he is saying it is a ‘religious obligation’ to have unity.

And yet strangely, I would agree with him - if he was sincere and transparent (about recent allegations, the Perak debacle, PKFZ etc) from the beginning.

If he is truly sincere, let's have a ‘united government’ with ministerial representatives from Umno, PAS, DAP, PKR, MCA (without OTK) and MIC (when Samy Vellu finally decides one fine day to step down).

Until then, if Najib wants to be religious, he should take lessons from a truly qualified and sincere master - Tok Guru Nik Aziz.

Appum: The PM Najib talks with a forked tongue. He is thinking Malaysians are still in the woods and are stupid.

That's the weakness of this leader who is not clear of his vision.

From day one when he ‘expounded’ the ‘1Malaysia’ concept (not originally his anyway; DAP had its ‘Malaysian Malaysia’ first,) he has not even caredto spell out in detail his ‘his’ concept.

Obviously he has no clue. It is just a mere political slogan to announce his entry in a grand (or distracting) way.

So now he says Malay unity is equal to ‘1Malaysia’.

Yet we hear all his flock of ministers their deputies and cohorts parroting his ‘1Malaysia’.

What is this equation?

Yuvan: Yes, all this hype about the unity talks proposed between Umno and PAS is against the concept of ‘1Malaysia’.

So far, both Umno and PAS have not come up with any clear-cut version of what this proposed ‘unity talks’ are all about and how it is going to benefit the Malays, the non-Malays and the nation at large.

If the PM and Umno leaders feel that it is alright to have unity talks with PAS, then what is wrong if the other BN component parties, ie, MCA, Gerakan, MIC, PPP and all other parties representing non-Malays in BN, proceed to hold similar talks with parties in Pakatan?

And assuming that Umno and PAS have no worries or apprehension about that, then why have the ‘1Malaysia’ concept at all?

It does not make any sense at all.

Is the ‘1Malaysia’ concept meant for strengthening unity within a particular race only and not intended for unity between all races and the whole nation?

If that is the case, then the person who introduced this concept should be bold enough to openly admit it and say that the ‘1Malaysia’ concept is not for the whole of Malaysia, but only for Umno and PAS.

The rakyat need not have to waste any more of their precious time and resources to talk or discuss about this ‘1Malaysia’ anymore.

Any by the way, the ‘1Malaysia’ concept itself is full of contradictions. That’s another thing.

SH Huang: What is the PM talking about? Umno-Pas unity talks are 'a religious duty'?

What about his ‘1Malaysia’ concept? Is this a religious duty as well?

What happens if PKR, DAP, MCA, Gerakan, PPP, Supp etc also have multi-racial unity talks?

Will it also be called a ' religious duty' or will it be called a ‘dangerous’ unity talk?

Never forget that Sabah and Sarawak are king-players and king-makers! Neglected, they can swing to the other said.

He has got it wrong. This mini-Muslim-unity talk is a divisive talk to divide Pas internally and to divide Pakatan Rakyat externally.

But this sort of talk will boomerang because the other BN component parties will start thinking that they should also have their own unity talks.

Some leaders think they are smart, not knowing that there are others who are smarter.

Finally, who wins and who loses? The people will win. Parties who want unity talks will lose.
