MB vs MB: 'Will good triumph over evil?'

vox populi small thumbnail 'We have seen in all previous judgments of Pakatan Rakyat vs BN cases, Pakatan wins in High Court and always loses in the Court of Appeal.'

Golden chance to wrest Silver state with apex court

Parimala Devi: As a law-abiding citizen, I hope and pray the Federal Court will deliver an acceptable judgment, without fear or favour.

We have seen in all previous judgments of Pakatan Rakyat vs BN cases, Pakatan wins in High Court and always loses in the Court of Appeal. This is the final judgment from the apex court, and it will be a landmark decision.

Loyal Malaysian: I shall reserved comment. Knowing the state of our judiciary, I dare not place too much hope on an unbiased and fair judgment. But I shall pray that good shall triumph over evil.

Habib Rak: YB Nizar Jamaluddin, your sincerity and good skills will take you far in leading Perak, and perhaps even Malaysia in the future. May you always be guided by good values that is universal in all religion, race and culture.

Louis: "Trade not my principles, honesty and integrity for the world." If those judges hold to these ideals, Nizar will have a fair chance. Otherwise, it is goodbye forever more. God bless you, Nizar.

Liow goes for jugular, calls for CC to quit en masse

Spokenthots: The forces to remove OTK (Ong Tee Keat) is gaining momentum and the showdown looks imminent. Whoever wins this tussle, the biggest loser will be MCA itself.

At a time when it can do without all these problems and focus on consolidating itself, it instead chooses to go to war with itself. The winner will be Umno as it will then exert its influence to install an Umno-friendly president, and carry on as usual.

The joke is on the MCA - your relevance is your ability to convince the Chinese that it is still worthwhile to support the BN. The problem here is that many Chinese have felt betrayed and taken advantage of by its leaders.

That is why MCA lost so badly in the last general election. Yesman to Umno, that's what MCA has become.

Batu Ferringhi: Gerakan president Koh Tsu Koon made a pledge that he will not want to be appointed a minister if he lost the election in Batu Kawan. Has he kept that pledge? Does he know that by not keeping to that pledge, he has insulted the people of Penang?

MCA president Ong Tee Keat made a pledge that he will respect the outcome of the EGM and resign even if he lost by one vote. Did he keep that pledge?

Therefore, at least the Sri Gading MP has some integrity in asking for both to resign . Go resign, why wait?

Lim Chong Leong: Only fresh elections can resolve the MCA crisis with all the leaders running for president - Ong, Liow (Tiong Lai) and Chua (Soi Lek). See who wins. But that is not what some of them want.

Liow wants a short cut by eliminating both Chua and Ong and parachute into the top post.

Ong wants to remain based on his past election success and technically he can only be removed by a two-third vote of no confidence. But he opened his big mouth and says he will resign if he lost by only one vote.

Chua, in the last election, did not challenge for the top post and now has nothing. So a fresh election will only serve him best but not the other two. Calling for fresh elections is just as self-serving as the other two not agreeing to it.

For an immediate fresh election, two-thirds of the CC members must resign. But they too do not want to risk not getting re-elected or appointed. So they too are self-serving.

Conclusion: All leaders in MCA are self-serving and power hungry.

MIC, MCA against single stream education

Yuvan: Why talk about national integration and unity in schools only? Why can't our government leaders and politicians see the bigger picture and promote that in all other sectors?

Do we have real and meaningful national integration and unity in our public institutions of higher learning and universities? What about in the intake in our government departments, essential services and in our GLCs (government-linked companies)? Do they truly reflect national integration and unity?

What about the employment ratio in the financial sector - the banks, insurance companies, unit trusts and asset management companies? Can we see any national integration and unity there?

It is completely naive and absurd to talk about national integration and unity by having a single-stream school system and expect our children to face the harsh realities of a racially-imbalanced and disintegrated system all around when they leave school education.

Single-stream education system is nothing but petty and impractical.
