Selective prosecution: 'Talk is cheap, Nazri'
Nov 3, 09 8:30am
your say'What about Teresa Kok's ISA incarceration? The hauling of Tian Chua to court but letting the policeman who punched him go free? The lack of investigation into the Lingam tape case?'

MACC, cops strangers to selective prosecution

KLeo: Selective prosecution? What about Teresa Kok's ISA incarceration? The non-prosecution of Ahmad Ismail's for his outrageous 'kaum pendatang' statement (he was suspended three years by Umno but the police only shrugged their shoulders).

The hauling of Tian Chua to court but letting the policeman who punched him go free? Inviting the silly cow-head protesters for a chat but jailing the many Pakatan Rakyat supporters who held peaceful candlelight vigils?

What about the lack of investigation into the Lingam tape case? That's five contradictions I can think of with my failing memory but there must hundreds more over the years.

But thanks for reminding me of the countless times the MACC and police have carried out blatantly selective prosecution, Nazri Abdul Aziz, your denial is laughably pathetic.

Pendatang Too: Talk is cheap, Nazri. 1Malaysia knows that the both the PDRM and the MACC practice selective persecution and selective prosecution. So tell us, why is there no action against former Selangor menteri besar Mohd Khor Toyo's RM24 million Balinese mansion?

Or how do you explain that the MACC chief's son is still employed as a pilot in MAS despite his conviction in an Australian court for child pornography charges?

Talk is cheap Nazri. Just show it to us Malaysians that what you say is true. After all 'Rakyat Didahulukan' or is that also just more cheap talk?

Paul Warren: 'Nazri said up to January 2009, 12 politicians from Barisan Nasional were arrested compared to one from Pakatan Rakyat'. Nazri, that's because mostly it is the BN guys who have the power to spend the rakyat's money.

Fewer Pakatan Rakyat people are in a position to misuse the rakyat's money. Also, generally speaking, the Pakatan guys are still a bit new at this so they are still very clean. Unlike the BN MPs who are so used to it that they think the rakyat's money is their own.

Dood: Excuse me, the MACC and the police don't practice selective prosecution? Isn't it a bit too early to be springing an April Fool's joke on the public, Nazri?
It's so obvious that this kind of statement from this minister is so far from the truth that I don't even know whether I should laugh from the ridiculous assertion or cry at the imbecility of our so-called 'leaders'.

Wira: Nazri is so good in telling this lie over and over again. He doesn't even blink and I think he believes his own lie.

Alien: 'Police do not practice selective prosecution'? Tell it to the Marines, Taximan Nazri.

Rocky: We are not stupid or blind or deaf. We can see how biased the cops and MACC are.

Rayfire: Yes, MACC and the police are colour-blind, justice-blind, people-blind, money-blind and most importantly BN-blind.

Loyal Malaysian: Teoh Beng Hock's body must have turned in his grave upon hearing this Umnoputra tell such an outright lie without blinking.

Pbj: What? RM2,400? Is this the best the MACC can come up with? True, corruption is corruption no matter the amount but would RM2,400 warrant the raid-like swoop, complete with press?

Does the alleged crime match the fanfare? Secondly, if MACC closed its eyes and flipped to any page of the Auditor-General's report and randomly pointed, they would easily find hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of ringgit worth of proven crime.

Yet they choose to expend such effort on RM2,400. An MACC man is paid the same per year if he solves a RM240,000 case or a RM2,400 case. Wouldn't it make sense to have better returns by chasing after a RM240,000 case than a RM2,400 one?

The economics of this decision just does not make sense. It does not add up which raises the suspicion of something more sinister happening behind the scenes other than the RM2,400 claimed in black and white.

Dan: Well, if you run on a clean, reform-orientated, no-corruption and reform ticket, than that's it. You remain that way or they prove you wrong. Five sen or five million, it's still corruption.

Arul Inthirarajah: And still no action on ex-Selangor MB Mohd Khir Toyo! And Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Nazri Abdul Aziz has the cheek to say that there is no selective prosecution. Liar!
