'A flip-flop decision by the ROS. At first, he said they could not decide but all of a sudden before the MCA CC meeting, he could decide. This stinks of political interference.'
Chua is deputy president: ROS shocker
Rayfire: Well, it looks like the ROS has joined the ranks of the EC, MACC and PDRM in being just a tool for BN to carry out its evil plans. I believe the decision is just to please PM Najib Razak as he backs the MCA peace plan.
For leaders with dignity, they should resign and let the members decide once and for all via an EGM. Some say he (Dr Chua Soi lek) was good minister, yes, I agree. But his image is tainted.
But then coming from BN, anything is possible. The members' decision can be overridden by just one man.
Ben: Now it is the Registrar of Society (ROS) that decides who should be the deputy president of a political party and not the members of that party. Malaysia Boleh, indeed.
Cala: Dr Chua, now that have regained part of your previous position, one word of caution: be humane in all things you do.
Do not be corrupted by the number one, Ong Tee Keat, who is rampaging through the town and chopping off all the MCA central committee members who are not aligned to him.
Chipmunk: Dr Chua, you must really count your blessings on your re-appointment but please be wary about your current boss. In politics, anything can happen so you'd better watch your back. The one that smiles the most will be your nightmare in MCA. All the best!
Truman: I don't know whether the ROS has made a fair decision or not but I do know that Chua Soi Lek was a good health minister as he understood his work, at least a lot better than the present one.
For those who don't believe, they can just ask around amongst those who work in the medical industry like doctor, nurses and hospital officers.
Thuraisingham Shun: The supreme authority of an organisation is the general meeting of members or delegates. For MCA, they have spoken so thus the ruling of this supreme authority sustains. No one can overrule this decision. The ROS is definitely wrong
Lim Chong Leong: A flip-flop decision by the ROS. At first, he said they could not decide but all of a sudden before the MCA central committee meeting, he could decide. This stinks of political interference by the ROS. There is no more law but only political power play.
Dr Jacob George: What ‘shocker'? It is the right decision and about time too. So the man who was in my opinion the country's best health minister on record is back as MCA deputy president. Drinks on me!
Kgan: Did PM Najib Razak have a hand in this ROS decision? Maybe but the ROS' decision is defensible whether or not one thinks there is a political slant to it.
Suppose you are sacked from your company as a manager. Feeling dissatisfied, you take your case to court. If the court rules that your dismissal was unfair and annuls your dismissal, what are you reinstated as? Obviously you should be reinstated to your old position.
Similarly, the MCA EGM annulled Chua Soi Lek's suspension so therefore he should be reinstated to his old post and not as an ordinary member. Chua was not demoted from deputy president to ordinary member before his suspension. More turmoil in the MCA!
Party boss sacks 4 CC members, appoints 3 new faces
Chow Yue Wah: All of you who made negative remarks against MCA No 2 Liow Tiong Lai do not have any idea of what you are saying. How can your mind be so easily influenced by rumours and remarks by bloggers that he is the mastermind behind the current issue?
The real culprits are Ong Tee Keat and Chua Soi Lek themselves who are forced to create lies in order to stay in power. We cannot have these two guys representing the Chinese community in Malaysia. Forget about MCA, and let's welcome DAP into our world.
Anakmalaysia: Ong Tee Keat is right to drop the four central committee members who turned against him. They should have been grateful for being appointed in the first place.
How can they call a press conference to retaliate against Ong? These ungrateful leaders should remember that they will not get the support of MCA members and the public in any future election.
