Malaysia's 112-year-old colonial landmark the Carcosa Seri Negara has been handed a stay of execution, the hotel's manager said today.

The Carcosa closed its doors at the end of last year after the government opened bids to redevelop the boutique hotel, once home to Britain's colonial rulers.
