French subs deal: Let the truth surface
Published:  Jun 3, 2010 7:50 AM

your say 'While France being the beneficiary of this submarine deal is taking the matter seriously, Malaysia's authorities are still doing next to nothing.'

Multi Racial: We are sure the spokesman for the PM is willing to swear on the Quran on this matter. This is becoming a joke and put Malaysia is a shameful situation. The evidence is so clear.

While France being the beneficiary of this submarine deal is taking the matter seriously, Malaysia's authorities are still doing next to nothing. To make matters worse, we have the spokesman from the PM's Office still having no shame to say that there is no case. Hello, we are talking about half a billion ringgit of public funds going into somebody's pocket.

If the French authorities are talking nonsense, why don't Malaysia take the French authority to the International Court of Justice for tarnishing Malaysia's name. The truth is we dare not as the French authorities are speaking facts and with hard evidence.

We want to know why no action has been taken against Perimekar and all the government officials involved in this case. We have to make sure those guilty be sent to jail and that we recover the money in full.

Amaso: Our MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) should learn from the French authorities - what to investigate and how to investigate corruption instead of interviewing/interrogating witnesses till the wee hours of the morning.

Go after big fish, not ikan bilis . Work smart, not hard.

Voice: The French judicial and police forces are simply fantastic. They raid and seized documents of such a large arm manufacturer. This shows how independent they are. Unbelievable!

Sarajun Hoda: I wonder if the attorney-general would pull strings or order the case to be closed due to insufficient evidence. But pity, the case in France. Maybe Nazri Abdul Aziz should order France to stop investigating or we throw them out of our Parliament... oh no, they are not our MPs.

Maybe they should order the French media not to report otherwise suspend their publishing permits. What you think? Have I am gone crazy? Yes, I live in Malaysia.

Ghkok: Imagine, we spent 1 billion euros (RM3.7 billion) on three submarines, and in the process allegedly paid 114 million euros (RM534.8 million) as ‘commission' to an unknown company - and Idris Jala is saying that subsidising sugar and petrol will lead us to bankruptcy.

Corruption and wastage is leading us to bankruptcy - not sugar and petrol.

Bapak Toyol: "A spokesman for the Malaysian prime minister's office in late April insisted there was ‘no case' to answer." This statement is nonsensical.

Anonymous: Well, Malaysians, you chose the present government, so you live with your choice. Life is but a journey of choices. The question is when are we going to learn and start making the right choices.

We have been stupid enough for so long. Fifty years of rule is far too long for any one entity, and eventually that entity will become corrupt and bent. Come every election, they start singing the familiar racial and religious song and we fall for it.

Umno Youth, Perkasa and KJ (Khairy Jamaluddin) should assemble their supporters and burn the French flag in front of the French embassy. After all, the French are tarnishing our PM's image and they saying our former defence minister is corrupt. Buy French last and boycott Carrefour.

The truth shall prevail.

Swipenter: Let us see how those involved in this scandalous submarine deal dive for cover once the shit hits the fan. We all hope that the French probe is guided by conscience, rule of law and without fear or favour.

Gibran: Why do we need submarines and fighter jets? We hardly have any form of external conflict. Most conflicts these day are actually internal. We need to follow Costa Rica and reduce all this unnecessary spending on defence. We imagine enemies, not realising the real enemy are those in power.

Rubystar: The former defence minister and his wife must be very afraid now. This may turn up to be a big can of worms to implicate them in the Scorpene deal, but that is small potatoes as a lot of French officials were involved. For every sin there is always an avenging angel.

Fido Dido: Let the French investigation complete the job and I am very sure there is always some evidence to proof. As usual the Umno/BN has a very strong culture of denial. I hope that the truth will eventually surface but don't be too happy. If the PM is involved, the case will be closed.

Sekigahara No Tatakai: "Documents were seized in the operation, which was carried out last week, the source added." I hope that all the relevant documents had been properly 'filed'.

I love the James Bond movie when Bond asked Moneypenny, "Will you file this properly for me?" Moneypenny immediately filed it in a ‘shredder'.

Hopium:

Najib to France: Je vous aidez, tu m'aide? (I help you, you help me?)

France to Najib: Okie dokie. You buy our nuke engines now.

Najib to France: Collect cheque on Monday.
