8.9% growth? No confidence in Umno's figures

vox populi big thumbnail 'This whole administration under Umno/BN has become so untrustworthy that it makes one cautious and one is only prepared to make further investments when there are  real results.’

Malaysia 2nd quarter GDP growth 8.9%

CarL:

My sincere apologies to those who wanted to hear bad news, like the FDI issue and how we are sliding down the food chain. My special apologies go out to those who said ‘The worst is yet to come.’

My employees are specifically glad that they can now go home and tell their families that their livelihoods is safe for the moment. However they have to be on guard as there are still Malaysians bent on ruining Malaysia.

Habib RAK:

An 8.9% GDP growth for the second quarter 2010. Why do I find it hard to accept this as the truth? The reason is a lack of confidence. This leads to a vicious circle.

This whole administration under Umno/BN has become so untrustworthy that it makes me cautious and I’m only prepared to make further investments only when I see real results. Thus far, I don’t see any tangible growth. Furthermore ‘time bombs’ are expected to explode.

Anwar dismisses Utusan's warnings of 'war'

Gerard Samuel Vijayan: Anwar Ibrahim is right in dismissing ‘Utusan Malaysia’ as a disgraceful and discredited newspaper that is overtly racist, chauvinistic and communal. If it was a Chinese or Tamil paper, it would have been shut down by now and their editors and writers arrested under the ISA.

But its an Umno paper, so it is allowed to incite and propagate hatred towards the non-Malays in the hope that Malays will respond by supporting Umno as the ‘saviour’ of the Malay race. People like the mufti of Perak Harussani Zakaria will join in this bandwagon with his own brand of political Islam that is imbued with racism, intolerance and prejudice.

Thankfully, most Malays/Muslims are sick and tired of these people who are peddlers of lies and hate. If Anwar has been defamed by the ‘Utusan’, he has the right to seek legal redress and what is wrong with that?

Whether he gets RM50 million or 50 sen it is for the courts to decide. His reputation is certainly worth it. After all it is the Umno media that demonises him day in and day out.

Joe:

This so-called priest Harussani Zakaria is a wolf in disguise. It's not the first time he is creating mischief to cause racial disunity. He does the work of fabricating lies and falsehoods and sowing conflict and discord.

Anwar should sue both ‘Utusan Malaysia’ and this unholy priest who is nothing more than a disgusting troublemaker. A desperate, morally bankrupt Umno that is given over to the practice of corruption on a massive scale is spewing threats of violence.

As long as the people from all the ethnic communities remain united and not play into the hands of these extremists, these rascals can no nothing.

CarL:

All that can be said is that never in history has there ever been so much discussion on race since the 2008 win of the opposition. I am terrified of the next general elections. God bless this country, and all the citizens.

One man will be remembered, not Dr Mahathir Mohamad, for his footloose ways, but one man who clearly defined and organised the split between Malaysians of all races. Chinese against Chinese, Malays against Malays and Indians against Indians and for one purpose - to be PM.

A well thought-out plan, well-executed and relatively successful. Now into phase two, and we can see that even our successful businessmen and commerce leaders warning against the  ‘tsunami’ of races against races and politics is really taken to a new dimension.

Anonymous: The Malays will not want to make war because of:

1. The value of the ringgit will drop to rock-bottom.

2. The value of the Bursa Saham will drop to rock bottom and who owns 80% of the companies?

3. Who is going to explain to the hajis and hajjahs that their children were killed in a civil war with the Chinese?

4. After everything is over who is there to rebuild the country?

DAP did not consult us over 'sweeteners', say PKR, PAS

Ghkok: In the context of Malaysia, these so-called ‘populist measures’ are a hundred times better than buying submarines, building a new palace, sending someone into space to try to make ‘teh tarik’, bailing out MAS, Bank Bumiputera, Renong, paying out billions for PKFZ, and for countless other crimes that have been discovered and those yet to be discovered.

The ‘populist measures’ will cost a tiny fraction of the RM22 billion (or more) that the above corruption cost us. The ‘populist measures’ will directly assist the poor and the needy regardless of race.

They will benefit the most number of people for the longest time. They will benefit the local economy because the low-income group then has to spend their money locally whereas the corrupted rich will send their money overseas (for example, one of them was caught with RM1 million cash at Brisbane airport).

Hopium: Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, please focus on Penang, while letting your team in Pakatan Rakyat decide on the ways to capture the federal government. You have enough problems at hand cause by the Umno bandits.

If you could bring back the shine of the Pearl of Orient, I am sure many Malaysians would listen to your pledges or sweeteners but ‘kalau rumah sendiri tak mampu dijaga, jangan berangan nak berleka di istana’.

I do hope this is not just a hope. Umno is working hard to create racial hatred; they would win it the dirty way if Pakatan does not counter them.
