PAS: Umno's Friday sermon claims 'lies and slander'

Alan Goh: Penang Umno under Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is really desperate to recapture Penang from DAP and Pakatan Rakyat. In so doing, they have resorted to using race and religion. It’s really sickening.

First, it was the Komtar Merchant Association (KMA) raising the issue of Ramadan stalls and accusing Lim Guan Eng of sidelining the Malays.

Now it is the Friday sermon issue.  The voters are not fools and they are getting more upset by the day seeing the same old style of racial and religious politics being employed. If you want to win Penang, Umno and Zahid must play by the rules.

It would not come as a surprise that a man like minister Ahmad Zahid would be the first to make such allegations. Greedy men can be bought to make and tell lies just so another can use it for his own ends.

Let’s face it, Umno/BN is desperate. They know they have lost the rakyat's trust and they’re doing all this nonsense to win back its loss, not realising that they had lost the plot. Instead of making our country better, they are making it worse.

Abil: How low would Umno and Utusan Malaysia go in order to create a ‘sandiwara’ to topple the legitimate Penang government since they find it difficult to buy Pakatan candidates to become BN-friendly assembly persons? Create a drama to disparage the Pakatan government.

Now we have PM Najib Razak's ‘Selamatkan Khazanah Selangor’ campaign. The Selangor government is being destabilised on a daily basis by Umno by bringing up trivial matters such as the sponsor letter issue, as if this is uncommon in Umno.

Gary Nair: Penang Malays will never believe these lies and slander unless they are really stupid. Can you imagine Lim Guan Eng stooping so low to win the hearts of the Muslims in the state?

Umno has run out of ideas to checkmate the progress Lim is making towards the Malays and they are going mad. Yesterday I asked a Malay gentlemen about the issue, and he reacted by saying, “Hang ini tak dah lain cerita ka? Depa ini bagi orang Melayu Pulau Pinang malu sehaja, bodoh punya Umno.”

Lover Boy: What is tragic is that this is the holy month of Ramadan, the Umno Muslims have no respect for the Islamic religion at all. All the demons and jinns are supposed to be subdued. Yet they call themselves Muslims?

My guess is they are possessed by a powerful jinn. I call on all the bomohs in Malaysia to get rid of the jinn that has possessed Ahmad Zaidi Hamidi, and the editors of Utusan Malaysia. They have acted against the directive of the king and have committed treason. Why are they not detained under ISA?

Winner: Umno leaders in Penang have to play with race and religion to scare the people and to try get the Pakatan leaders and supporters angry and retaliate in the same ways. That is what Umno wants because they have lost the people’s support.

BTN: Umno is so desperate that they are willing to gamble away the country’s main fabric - our multiracial society - that holds us together. Even a kid will know that all this accusation against Lim was because he does a good job in Penang, and that he is a Chinese.

Hey Umno, this country belongs to all those who seek to live a peaceful life and built this country into a great country. You guys think only of yourselves and are willing to sacrifice the country for your selfish and evil gains. You are not welcome in this land.

Louis: If Najib's name can be mentioned in the Buddhist, Hindu or Christian prayers for blessing, what is so wrong if Guan Eng's name is mentioned for the said purpose during the Friday's prayer?

Umno is famous for twisting facts to hoodwink the public. Most of the Muslims do not buy their white lies anymore. Instead, it works against them, especially with lies they spin. Lim Guan Eng must be out of his mind if he ordered that his name replaces the Agong's in the sermon. No sane person would ever do that.

Lingam tape: Court to hear three appeals tomorrow

Ferdtan: The outcome will be - the appeal of the infamous 'correct, correct, correct' VK Lingam and gang will be accepted and the court will say: ‘Lingam didn't meant what he said’, just like the racist comments made by the school headmistress.

To add insult to injury, the court will award cost and damages to them - the 'injured' parties. Case closed.

Victor Johan: Bravo to High Court justice Abdul Kadir Musa. The rakyat is watching the Court of Appeal tomorrow. Let's see what PM Najib is up to. A Mahathir-duplicate?

Lim Chong Leong: The appeal will be allowed because the judges hearing the appeal all came from the same process of appointment as former chief justice Ahmad Fairuz Abdul Halim - all through "one phone call", Malaysia-style.

Pahang maverick: I think the root cause of the problem was the leadership then. Let the court of law do its duty on all those implicated, even if there are Tuns or Tan Sris. Unfortunately, we and the generations to come will have to pay the price for having such irresponsible and unscrupulous leaders.
