Mahathir, for once be honest with yourself

vox populi small thumbnail 'You want the ‘pendatang' to get lost. Then you have the audacity to claim compensation from countries that recognise and provide opportunities to them?'

Dr M: Forget our roots if we want to achieve 1Malaysia

Bobby Cheng: Dr Mahathir Mohamad, you are a master twister, but you do talk sense sometimes. 1Malaysia's empty slogan does not excite any of us typical Malaysians walking on the streets. What's the big deal?

The whole thing was cooked up by you-know-who to deceive the rakyat. One side asks us to defence our races/roots, the other side (from same source) asks us to unite. Cukuplah (enough). We want to see action/changes in government policies. Not empty slogans.

Kumara: Why are you concerned about Malaysians, more specifically the ‘pendatang', being poached when you have more than enough 'brilliant' Malay graduates from local universities to fill vital posts?

As it is, you want the ‘pendatang' to get lost. Then you have the audacity to claim compensation from countries that recognise and provide opportunities to them?

Dr Suresh Kumar: Mahathir, be honest with yourself. I would say 90 percent of Malaysians who left did so out of frustration and disappointment due to your racist policies. Most of us were educated by our parents, toiling day and night. So stop saying the government gave us an education.

On the contrary, the government deprived many with excellent academic credentials of their rightful place in the local universities.

Rolls-Royce: You fellows are not discerning enough. You think he is saying something sensible. Let me decipher you what he said:

You Malaysians of non-Malay origins, you should forget about your race, language and cultural identity. Forget about your vernacular schools and don't complain too much about privileges others are enjoying. Just be my slaves, work hard, pay taxes and do what I tell you.

And when we are completely satisfied, maybe, just maybe, we will not label you ‘pendatang' anymore, but we could still ask you fellows to ‘balik' Cina and India anytime we want.

VP Biden: This is typical election talk. For Malaysians to identify themselves as Malaysians, the BN government must implement what is necessary for each and everyone to feel Malaysians, starting with the hiring in the civil service and vice-chancellors of universities that's colour blind.

Can the BN regime do it? No. What this old man is saying is: you ‘pendatang', discard your ethnic roots which we Umno, MCA and MIC have ingrained into you. Once we see you change, only then will we implement policies reflecting a Malaysia for all.

It's reverse psychology this man is trying to play.

Luke Skywalker: Mahathir, why are you lamenting that talents are leaving the country? My parents had to fork out thousands of dollars to educate me overseas just because my race is restricted from enrolling in the public universities.

As for salary, you are wrong. I used to get paid RM4,000, but now I am getting paid RM36,000 a month overseas. Best of all, there are no fanatics like you that I have to live with for the rest of my life.

Clearwater: US citizens from widely diverse ethnic backgrounds and origins do not have to forsake their roots, yet all are ultimately assimilated and treated equally as 1Americans, even first generation immigrants. Why is that so?

Perhaps it is because their constitution is revered and upheld in spirit and form by their government, while Malaysia's is constantly amended and violated by its government?

Hisham slams PKR over 'Ketuanan Melayu'

Sabawak: Is ‘ketuanan Melayu' in line with Islam and PM Najib Razak's 1Malaysia concept? Definitely not. What have the component BN parties got to say about this? This minister is a goon and BN is no different from Perkasa.

Anak Bangsa Malaysia: All the different races in Malaysia must realise that we should not think ourselves as coming from different races. After over 50 years of independence, we are just one race, Malaysians.

Minister Hishammuddin Hussein, remember this - the world is watching. It is so stupid to think of ‘ketuanan Melayu'.

Kgen: (1) What has rejecting ‘ketuanan Melayu' got to do with rejecting Malay rulers? (2) Since he claims that ‘ketuanan Melayu' does not mean making Malays the masters, what does it mean?

PKR rep booted from Perak assembly sitting

Changeagent: As the elected representative of Hutan Melintang, S Kesavan had every right to question the irregular land transfer deals in his constituency. He is merely doing the job that the local constituents expect him to do. Issuing suspension orders against him only increases the public's perceptions that something suspicious had taken place.

Needless to say, this is not good for MB Zambry Abd Kadir's own reputation or BN's hopes to be re-elected at the next Perak state elections.

Disgusted: Well, this is the way Zambry and his band of brigands operate in the state government and state assembly, which they illegally usurped. There seems to be no law and order in the way Perak is being run.

Zambry and his pirates seem to be not answerable to anyone for their actions and run rough shod over the will of the people and their appointed representatives.
