Perhaps we should get a refund from Apco

your say 'Slick spin expert Apco Worldwide has obviously unable to stop the world from seeing Najib for who he really is - a hypocrite.'

Ex-US envoy launches broadside at M'sia's racism

Docs: Damn Yankee calling our beloved PM Najib Razak a racist and claiming that 1Malaysia is just a farce? I suggest that Najib and Umno not take this insult sitting down.

Please, Umno, especially the Umno Youth wing, go and make a statement by organising a mass protest outside the US embassy to express the nation's displeasure at this untrue statement by a former United States ambassador to Malaysia John Malott.

On top of that, if Umno does not do anything to protest this US lack of respect for our democratically elected Najib (maybe he was not elected by the rakyat but he was elected nevertheless by Umno, which is good enough for most people here), our own rakyat will think that Umno are a bunch of pansies.

I'm sure Umno will not have a problem with organising a mass protest of Malaysians of all races (and they don't have to pay/bribe them to show up as most Malaysians love our PM and our FLOM - First Lady of Malaysia - too).

KSN: Malaysians know for sure that 1Malaysia is just a slogan. It means nothing because day in and day out we hear and experience racism and fanaticism that occur with the tacit approval of the authorities - some call it legalised discrimination which started from the time Dr Mahathir Mohamad became PM.

No one who came after him had the determination, the leadership and vision to move the country in the right direction.

The Umno half-wits, the racial and religious fanatics, the corrupt and greedy who have no love or loyalty to the country, will not allow any change. But there is limit to all the abuses and corruption, and time will take care of it and those causing them.

SusahKes: "Even TalentCorp, the government agency created in 2010 that is supposed to encourage overseas Malaysians to return home, is headed by a Malay, with an all-Malay Board of Trustees."

That just about sums up PM Najib Abdul Razak's two-faced approach to 1Malaysia, doesn't it? Many now view Najib as playing the good-cop role; while Mahathir, Perkasa and Utusan Malaysia donning the bad-cop apparel.

Just as MCA tries to scare Chinese voters by demonising PAS, Umno plays up the insecurities of Malays by portraying DAP as traitors to race and country. In truth, 1Malaysia = Two-faced Umno.

Malaysian Down Under: God bless Australia, my new home. Armed with an Oxford PhD and an Imperial College masters, both in engineering, I am proud to contribute to the continued prosperity of the Land Down Under.

I made the mistake of returning to Malaysia when I left the UK, but was shocked at the way things had deteriorated in Malaysia. But the cow-head protest took the cake. I am one of the Malaysian diaspora who will be shunning the calls of the TalentCorp and the PM to return home.

Cheat me once, shame on you. Cheat me twice, shame on me. Malaysia used to punch above its weight, now it's just a punchline.

Anak Bangsa Malaysia: Perhaps Najib should ask for a refund from slick spin expert Apco Worldwide since they are obviously unable to stop the world from seeing Najib Razak for who he really is - a hypocrite - despite being paid RM77 million a year of Malaysian taxpayers' funds.

Now, in the wake of this highly embarrassing international criticism, we should wait for the inevitable clumping together of Najib's Umno Youth and Perkasa mob outside the US embassy to thump their chests, burn flags and shout indeterminate slogans, while somehow managing to avoid addressing every single one of the very salient points of criticism raised by John Malott.

Anonymous_4031: The PM must look seriously at the issues mentioned by the ex-envoy from US and others highlighted in the Internet. Let's see where his courage stands. If Najib buckles under racist pressure, then he has lost the battle to win votes among non-Malays and right-thinking Malays.

It is already bad to tolerate racism which he fought against at the UN Assembly in New York; but to also provoke racist remarks. Since Barack Obama won the presidential election, things have changed both in US and other parts of the world. Reform is in the air; and unless reform is forthcoming, people will reject Umno. Change we believe in.

Loyal Malaysian: Only the Umnoputras will believe their own propaganda that all is well as far as race relations in our country is concerned.

Gerard Samuel Vijayan: The US political mirror may have its cracks, but the Malaysian one is a total farce. Full of lies to mislead the world into believing that Malaysia is a model Muslim democracy that promotes tolerance and fairness to all of its races and religions.

Instead, what we have is the most entrenched and systemic form of racism and intolerance that is now further augmented by religious bigotry never before seen in any other part of the world since the demise of the Nazis in Germany and the apartheid regime in South Africa.

To compound this terminal decline, we have a state where all the institutions of government, the press and even civil society have been compromised, corrupted and destroyed to the point of rendering our alleged democracy a sham. The only people happy in Malaysia at present are the ruling elite and their cronies.

Black Mamba: It cost Najib nothing to take heed from John Malott than employing the expensive services of Apco. This is a reality wake-up call to BN before it erodes further and the whole country is crippled.
