'The discrepancy between the IGP and the home minister over the arrests shows that something is seriously wrong in their communication channels.'
Sex video not doctored, says police chief
Ponto: The selective emphasis by inspector-general of police (IGP) Ismail Omar on the authenticity of sex video alone without stressing launching of the required and necessary investigations to unravel the true identity of the man on video would only serve as hogwash, designed clearly to stall for time while awaiting directives and instructions from the top-notch in Umno for whatever means or advice to circumvent the issue.
The IGP should fully be aware that we are not getting any nearer to the truth of the matter when he persists in insulting our intelligence along with taxing our patience by ‘playing possum' and defiantly disregarding the weighty consensus of the public's calls for a thorough criminal investigation to have those perpetrators responsible for the screening and making of the said sex video prosecuted.
Anything less than the above-mentioned action by the IGP would be deemed a blatant act of betrayal of trust of the rakyat.
Malaysiawatch4.blogspot: The discrepancy between the IGP and the home minister over the arrest of three men shows that something is seriously wrong in their communication channels. Is the minister claiming ignorance or has he instructed the IGP not to reveal the names?
Atan-Toyol: Okay, if the video is genuine, it is clear cut that the three ‘datuks' are guilty of taping, processing and screening the ‘video lucah' to an audience. No two ways about it.
But as it always happens in Bolehland, the Umno goons will not be arrested because they are doing a good job to scandalise the opposition leader. Never mind if the person shown is not the opposition leader, the BN will employ experts who will testify that the man is indeed the opposition leader.
The 13th GE is around the corner. The PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police) has to act fast to put the ‘culprit' behind bars, so that PM Najib Razak will have a plain sailing to Putrajaya. The turn of events stinks to high heaven!
Ayoyo: Whether it is genuine or authentic is not the real issue. The issues are:
1) What is the Malaysian law regarding the public screening of pornographic videos? If it is not illegal, then everybody can distribute, screen and watch sex videos in public. Is that the case?
2) Will those who watched the screening be penalised or prosecuted? Has Carcosa Seri Negara breached the law by allowing such public screening of the sex video?
3) Identify who is behind this plot, and identify the man and prostitute in the video. Laws are meant for all parties, not one set for Umno/BN and another for the opposition.
Singa Pura Pura: As is widely expected, the police are more concerned with whether the video was ‘authentic'.
Did anyone lodge a police report alleging that the persons in the video had committed a punishable crime? What is the basis of the police investigations that led to their uncustomary announcement that the video was authentic? Does authenticity equate to the proven identity of the persons appearing therein?
Also, does it mean that if the video is authentic as claimed by PDRM, it automatically absolves the pornographic trio of any liability under the law for their crimes?
A verdict that the video was ‘not doctored' by Umno's inspector-general of police is obviously meant to coach public opinion into accepting that it means ‘Anwar was certainly the sinner in the video'.
Unfortunately, the real significance of Umno's ‘not doctored' verdict is that the Umno trio were in actual possession of a genuine obscene video and were screening it at a public place to a section of the public.
If anything at all, this verdict by the IGP only adds to the gravity and seriousness of the offence that was committed by the porn peddlers - a group of strange bedfellows peddling porn for some pecuniary or other benefit in the name of saving a nation from moral decadence. What a travesty of justice.
Alicescat: No credibility. Lost integrity. It's hard for the rakyat to take anything at face value.
Tailek: The issue here is not whether the videotape is doctored or not. It is not a criminal offence for anyone to have sex with a prostitute, be it a party leader or even an IGP.
The issue here is a criminal offence of exhibiting a pornographic video, and maybe even criminal defamation, committed by the Datuk T trio. The Datuk Ts have even admitted it publicly. So what are the police going to do about that and what are they waiting for?
It looks like the new blood in the police top brass has not brought about any changes.
Kuchikoo: Two questions come to mind: (1) In the first place, why were there hidden cameras in the hotel room? Who planted them there? (2) If indeed, the person in the video is Anwar, why not catch him in the act with his pants down, instead of insisting later that the video is genuine?
Anonymous_5fb: If the actor was Anwar Ibrahim, 'they' would have uploaded to Youtube without going through the hassle of screening it to journalists, calling a press conference, police arresting two, three or no one.
So what if the video is not doctored? You mean to say that if the actor is Anwar, you don't need to prosecute the Datuk T trio for recording, possessing and screening the porn video? What the police should do is to prosecute Datuk T trio in the very first instance.
Anonymous222: Of course, the tape is authentic. So? Is there a crime committed in the first place for two adults to have sex in a room? A crime is committed when the three datuks decided to show sex tape to the public. Never mind who the actors are.
Anonymous_40a7: Surely this was an April Fool's joke, no?
