Tajudin affair: Where have all the billions gone?

vox populi small thumbnail 'Any legitimate government with a little integrity and accountability should, and would, take appropriate action to recover the losses.'

Former top cop confirms Tajudin links

Ksn: It is very encouraging to read former Kuala Lumpur CID chief Mat Zain Ibrahim's views and revelations.

Not that it will move even an inch the parties he mentioned - the AG (attorney-general), the police, the MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) and the finance minister - to take action, because too many big shots were involved in the scandal and the corruption involving millions of public funds.

But any legitimate government with a little integrity and accountability should, and would, take appropriate action to recover the losses, and expose and prosecute the culprits.

It is unlikely to happen, Mat Zain. But you are actually doing national service by bring the facts of the abuses into the public domain. The people will be final judges come the 13th GE.

Alan Goh: Mat Zain, until today you are still wondering where the millions of ringgit held by the top three bumiputera corporate figures come from?

There was a master key held by the fourth PM that opened up Petronas' billions of ringgit in reserves and this in turn was passed to the minister of finance, who held a master ATM card to do what he pleased.

Otherwise, how did one buy back MAS' shares in 1999 at RM8 from Tajudin Ramli when the market price was RM3.40?

Swipenter: This merger is more of protecting crooks than solving the problems of MAS and AirAsia and the airline industry. This is the crooked corporate Malaysia since the days of former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Can you guys remember the once blue-eyed boy of Mahathir; Mohd Abdullah Ang? His prison cell was like a luxurious hotel room and he can literally walk in and out of prison as though he owns the place, until it was exposed.

Ash: I am curious why Tajudin Ramli and former finance minister Daim Zainuddin were in Minister in PM's Department Nazri Abdul Aziz's entourage on a working visit overseas recently. Was the deal hatched then?

Tan: Felda reality mocks rosy gov't stats

Clearwater: I believe former BN deputy minister Tan Kee Kwong. Compare the financial position of large public-listed plantation companies such as IOI during the last 10 years with that of Felda.

These companies have been building up cash reserves with the prevailing high CPO prices. Something is definitely not right with Felda and its RM6 billion EPF loan.

Jesse: Felda is another cash cow for Umno. Just appoint a ‘Yes' man to do their bidding. The scheme has gone to the dogs. It should be flowing with money if it had competent management.

Anonymous_3e4b: Why must all government-linked companies (GLCs) be run by ex-politicians?

With 12 million qualified adults Malaysians, I don't believe there is no one else capable to helm GLCs other than BN politicians. Felda should be managed by the settlers themselves because they have hands-on experience in the business. They are the real expert, not the present Felda chairperson, Mohd Isa Abdul Samad.

Likewise, why must Syed Hamid Albar helm SPAD (Land Public Transport Commission) when there are many within the transport fraternity who are more competent and experienced in this field to run the show?

A clear case of a failed politician running a GLC is MAS's former chairperson Tajudin Ramli. Look what happened to MAS as a result.

Keepsmiling: If Felda was run properly, all Felda settlers would have been very well-off by now and their children would want to continue with the land scheme.

The reality is reverse and none of these Felda second generation want to have anything to do with Felda and are instead migrating to the towns and cities to seek employment.

Rick Teo: Isa, you cheated in the Umno election. Can we trust you again? It's like putting a thief in a bank. How can we believe you? If Felda is making money, then why the need to borrow RM6 billion from EPF?

Where has all the Felda money gone? Previously the price of oil palm was RM1,000 per tonne and we made and accumulated RM6 billion. Now the price of oil palm is RM3,000 per tonne and you need to borrow RM6 billion from EPF?

1 Melayu 1 Bahasa 1 Malaysia : The Malays are stealing money from the Malays, and yet the Felda Malays keep voting for Umno. Later when they have problems and are poor, the Malays will blame the non-Malays for all their problems.

Anonymous: The one stealing is one of their own people. This is where Perkasa should be do something about it, instead of making stupid remarks about religious issues.

Ibrahim Ali, wake up. If you don't take this up, it means you condone it. That's just as bad as stealing itself.
