Imperative for EC to do full audit of voters roll

vox populi small thumbnail 'What about those unknown and yet to be uncovered cases of ‘mistakes' of which there are undoubtedly many?'

Over 200 foreigners to be dropped from draft roll

Anonymous_3e8f : Is it too difficult for the EC (Election Commission) to let the rakyat know who first registered these 52 deleted records? My guess is it must be the EC itself and Umno.

Nobody else would or could cheat in this matter of voter registration. The whole roll has to be verified by competent parties before GE13. A consortium of locally-based international accounting firms could do the job.

Definitely it will cost money but no one (except maybe Umno) will complain when the objective is to have a clean electoral roll.

Kgen: How can there be 200 foreigners in the electoral roll? A mistake again? What about the EC verification process? Isn't this stretching the notion of ‘mistake' to breaking point?

Anonymous_3e86: Here we have 28 of the 30 non-citizens claiming that they never applied to be voters but were in EC's list.

If these non-citizens' names had not been struck off, phantom voters would probably appear on polling day to boost BN's votes. I'm sure there are many more such non-citizen voters who don't even know that they have been registered as voters.

BN has conveniently registered them without their knowledge. There are too many technical errors for it to be believable, EC.

Anonymous_3e4b: Bersih should demand that the electoral roll is open for public scrutiny at least six months before the GE13. If not, Bersih 3.0 should be unleashed. The electoral roll is now deemed very 'kotor'.

Ferdtan: Since the EC has finally corrected the many mistakes uncovered by opposition parties, someone in EC must be held accountable.

It is said there are errors upon errors found. Such a magnitude of mistakes, suggest fraudulent complicity within EC, shouldn't the chairperson and his deputy be asked to resign?

They were appointed by the Agong, and by not doing a good job, they have let him down.

Blogsmith: The cases that have been uncovered are the known cases. What about those unknown and yet-to-be-uncovered cases of which there are undoubtedly many?

Will these dubious cases be allowed to influence the next general election? Something must be done and the EC must come clean.

Jimmy Ng : The EC now has the ordinary rakyat doing their job for them. Should they still get their salaries, derived from taxpayers' funds?

If I were Pakatan Rakyat, I would probably insist that the EC promises the electoral rolls be totally cleaned up before the next GE is allowed to take place. Otherwise, their heads should be on the chopping block.

CiViC: How come we never see asuch news in the mainstream media? Instead, when the EC announced the errors were just 0.0001 percent , it was all over the papers? Hello? EC-BN really think the rakyat are stupid.

Cawat: SPR stands for 'Suruhanjaya Penipu Rakyat' (Commission that cheats the people) in the past, present and for all time - just like the BN.

'MCMC must explain pulling plug on Undilah video'

Armageddon: We can never be the world's best democratic country if we can't even accept the fact that there are opposition members among us.

Just because the video clip featured some opposition faces, the clip was not allowed to be shown to the public. The BN is still living in the Stone Age. They can't even accept that some good ideas do come from the opposition.

Take for example, the announced repeal of the ISA. We all know it was the opposition that had been campaigning for its abolition, and yet the BN refused to accept that fact. They had to claim that the idea was theirs.

YF: I believe what PM Najib Razak meant was the "world's worst democracy", and as usual the media misrepresented what he meant.

Ong: When a moron gets appointed to head a big and important organisation, it is not possible for that moron to be impartial. The moron has to show gratitude by being partial to those who had appointed him/her.

Jimmy Ng: Again, this is further irrefutable proof that the PM is powerless against the Umno warlords who are in total control of the government. Their power tentacles have slithered into MCMC (Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission) and almost all GLCs (government-linked companies) as well.

Malaysian down under: Once again, Najib loses his moral authority. It seems like his own chiefs are trying to make him look bad.

He says that Malaysia aspires to be the world's greatest democracy. Today, we see the MCMC asking stations to withdraw the ‘Undilah' public service announcement.

Australia is a true democracy, where the executive, legislature and judiciary are truly independent. When the Australian PM planned to send refugees to Malaysia, refugees sought protection through the highest court in the land. Judges deemed Gillard's plan illegal, killing the refugee swap deal with Malaysia.

Then Gillard tried to pass a new law to revive her plan in Parliament. The opposition refused to agree; she was thwarted again. This is the beauty of a true democracy at work.

I'm Malaysian and an Australian PR (permanent resident). Every time I leave Australia for visits, I register my details with the Australian Foreign Ministry. I know if I am in trouble, Australia will come to my aid.

Ace: Talking of public service announcements (PSA), I am reminded of this radio PSA which ends by saying, "1Malaysia is not a dream - we once were, and can be again". How very true - we can be 1Malaysia again if we get rid of Umno/BN.

Steriodic: Najib aims to be world's best democracy? That's laughable. I'll settle for a mediocre democracy; right now, it's a borderline dictatorship

Anonymous_3ec6: So it seems Najib ain't "cool" enough to broadcast this video message.
