Can Malaysians 'nambikei' PM Najib?

YOURSAY 'Najib was a deputy minister at the age of 23 and after nearly 35 years, now he is telling the Indians to trust him?'

We must have 'nambikei', Najib tells Indians

your say Malaysian Down Under: How sad that on a day when garlands should be hanging on the neck of Lord Muruga, it is PM Najib Razak and his sidekick (Rosmah Mansor) who get the biggest garland of all.

Will we ever learn? Isn't 50 years of ‘nambikei' not enough? And instead of helping the poor and providing good education for the Indians, a RM2 million cultural centre is promised.

How many more A Kugans need to die before we wake up?

Multi Racial: Whilst these politicians trying to please their boss, the people they claimed to represent continue to suffer.

Well, there is a saying. If someone lied to you for the first time, it is their fault. But if you allowed them to do it again and again, then it is your fault.

So now, ask yourself - can you trust these people who have failed in previous promises?

Tholu: There goes Najib again - "You help me, and I help you." Don't you have a constitutional obligation to take care of all the races whether or not they voted for your party?

And who is Batu Caves temple complex board of trustees chairperson R Nadarajah to deliver promises on behalf of the Indian populace. He himself is scorned by the Indians, who believe that he is embezzling money going to the temples.

Up2U: If ever there was a person who sold his race and religion at the same time begging and spreading falsehoods and bringing shame to his temple, Nadarajah is one.

He dared use the deities as tools in begging Najib, "If you give, then what you want (nambikei), you will get.

Is he admitting that the Indian devotees are so gullible that their devotion can be bought by such paltry sums? Shame on you, Nadarajah. Devotees should demand his ouster immediately.

Lynn: That's precisely what is so wrong and rotten about the way the present government operates. For someone to ask so openly and without any sense of shame for the PM to "give from his side" and not to go through the government in exchange of supposed votes stinks of mafia-style governance.

We don't need that in Malaysia. What about the rest of the 20 million rakyat who has nothing to trade? Who do we ask for to be provided what is rightfully ours like good education, good infrastructure, medical facilities?

This is typical of MIC (and MCA is no different - always begging for scrapes from Umno).

Pemerhati: People like Nadarajah and all the other leaders of the component parties like MIC and MCA have accepted the discriminatory system practiced by Umno and are happy to accept the small crumbs Umno throws at the minorities near election time so as to get their votes.

On the other hand, P Uthayakumar of Hindraf, by asking for a Felda-like land ownership self-employment scheme of 10 acres for hardcore Indian poor and affordable housing for all homeless, has highlighted how Umno practices economic apartheid against the minority communities.

Umno's strategy has been to use most of the taxpayers' money for the majority Malays and also steal a substantial amount for itself and its political allies in MIC, MCA, etc. They then use what little is left over to give to the minority communities.

If BN was not stealing such large sums of money then the poor amongst the minorities could get just as much help as the poor Malays. To solve the problem, vote ABU (Anything but Umno).

Chipmunk: The term "nambikei" not only speaks of trust and believe, but also to have faith in the truth what you say or do. As far as BN aka Umno is concerned, you have neither.

Unspin: Despite being widely condemned for his "You help me, I help you" attempted bribery of the Sibu electorate, he was at it again at Batu Caves.

Allow me to offer three possible hypotheses to explain the irresponsible behaviour of our PM:

1) He is stupid because he does not know that offering taxpayers' money to buy votes is illegal.

2) He is arrogant and does not give a damn what we think.

3) His behaviour is conditioned by Rosmah because whenever she threw a tantrum, he will make up to her by buying diamond rings, handbags and silk dresses.

Likewise, when the rakyat threatens to vote opposition, his reflex reaction is to offer money and goodies to solve the problem - instead of doing the right thing by tackling corruption, cronyism, crime, civil service inefficiency, brain-drain, monopolies, unfair trade practices, racism, religious bigotry, etc - so that we can attract more foreign investment to grow our economic cake for the benefit of all.

Swkdayaks: Najib's only capability as PM of Malaysia is throwing our money here and there and shamelessly makes it all look as if it's his money given to us.

Swipenter: Forget about transformation for all. You won't get any real transformation before Umno's transformation. You will continue to get but crumbs and loose change falling from the cracks between the fat greedy fingers of Umnoputras.

The big question is, can Umno transform after all the decades of bullying and marginalising the Indians and others?

Anonymous: Najib was a deputy minister at the age of 23 and after nearly 35 years, now he is telling the Indians to trust him when elections is around the corner?

Can you remember the Hindraf ceramah bashing not too long ago? Not a word from him. So can you trust him?
