PKR pounces on Najib's apology
Onyourtoes:
Apologies must based on genuine remorse and the mistakes committed must be unintentional.
But you look at the behaviour of BN-Umno. Do they look like someone who are sorry of what they have done? The intransigence and arrogance are everywhere for all to see.
They still go around causing trouble, intimidate and bully others. Also, do you think they committed corruption, abuse of power and gross wastage unknowingly?
Apologies, to me, are just insincere ploys to hoodwink the rakyat. There is no humility or remorse at all.
Look not what they say; look at what they do. Deeds not words.
James1067: To say sorry is easy but it takes a man of courage and humility to put it in action.
PM Najib Razak, you have nearly a year to put your words to the test. Stop corruption by taking action against the crooks. Stop racial and religious abuses by putting the traitors away.
Stop protecting your few cronies by taking away the road tolls and satisfying the millions of motorists. Set the judiciary free by taking action against those responsible for the deaths of Teoh Beng Hock and Ahmad Sarbani.
Remove all top civil servants who serve politicians rather than the people. Put more money into saving lives rather than destroying them by buying weapons that we don't need.
Can you, Najib, go against the chieftains in Umno and prove that you are your own man? Start cleaning up your house first.
Socialist007: Opportunities are taken away from the rakyat to build a better life for future generations.
Opportunities are taken away from the capable younger generation to thrive in professional fields. Billions of ringgit have been siphoned away from the Malaysian taxpayers.
What kind of future that we Malaysians have in this country? Is this the future that we have slogged for in the past 55 years? How do you apologise for this, Umno-BN?
RockaBilly: I don't believe in Najib's apology. Najib is a man who will say anything that the crowd wants to hear just to please them, but he doesn't have the balls to act. No, not with Umno racists and Perkasa breathing down his neck.
He is not sincere in anything he says, there's no integrity in this man. Ask anything from him now and you'll get it, but wait until the election is over, there will be no more apologies, no more free money, and no more free tolls.
Everything will go up - more taxes, subsidies slashed, prices raised. Mark my words.
Kit Siang: Is Najib sorry over Perak coup?
Loo Soon Fatt: BN had plundered the country high and dry over the past 55 years at the expense of the rakyat. And now Najib expects all of us to forgive and forget and give him a big win?
Why Najib wants a two-thirds majority is anybody's guess. A capable and efficient government with a simple majority, checked by a strong opposition, will in fact bring out the best in the management of the country to ensure good governance, accountability and transparency.
In fact, a change of government would give the voters a chance to assess between the old and new leadership and decide who should be given the mandate to govern in future general elections.
Anonymous_3f4a: Najib should be sorry. The Perakians have not forgotten it.
Najib swore to uphold the constitution of the country and defend the interest of the nation and her people when he became the prime minister.
In Perak's case, he usurped the power of the constitution and acted against the interest of Perakians.
Kairos: That's right. Name the mistakes one by one and apologise for each one of them and then we will know whether you are sincere or not.
Make sure it includes the Scorpene submarines case, the Tajuddin Ramli settlement and the NFC (National Feedlot Corporation) scandal among other misdemeanours committed during Dr Mahathir Mohamad's regime and yours.
What's the point of apologising when there is no honest action taken to rectify the wrongs? It is pure empty words.
PKR slams new JB highway as 'most expensive'
Anak JB: This toll penalised the very people that bring in millions in foreign reserves from Singapore to Malaysia and the staunch BN supporters who gave their undivided support to BN.
Yet another transformation programme that has been handed to cronies without any open tender.
Cintai Negara: RM1 billion to build a 8.1km road? That is RM123,000 per metre of road, whether elevated or not. The road must have been built with gold. Any genuine contractor could have built the highway for RM200 million and still make a huge profit.
Anonymous_40c3: PKR national deputy secretary-general Steven Choong, please don't ask so many questions.
No one in Malaysia has the right to know what is good for the country other than the ruling party. You should have more faith in them.
The ruling government knows what is best for the rakyat. Please accept and continue voting for a government where the ‘rakyat didahulukan' (comes first).
Socialist007: This is the price Johoreans have to pay for giving staunch support to Umno-BN. Johor is the last, and the strongest fortress, for Umno. Way to go, Johoreans.
