YOURSAY 'What sacrifice? Rafidah is spot on. Shahrizat was trying to gain public sympathy by carrying a baby and surrounding herself with women.'

Rafidah: You call that 'quitting'?

your saySwkdayaks: Yes, former Wanita Umno chief Rafidah Aziz, that is how stupid Umno leaders are. They can't even understand the meaning of "sacrifice". How to lead a country like that when you can't even understand the meaning of a simple word.

Really, Umno leaders have no competency and quality to lead. No wonder, Najib Razak as PM, Umno and BN chairperson can't or is afraid to even debate with Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim.

Mohd Isa Samad, former Negeri Sembilan MB, was suspended from Umno after  being found by the party of being involved in money politics yet the PM appointed him Felda chairperson.

Adnan Yaakob, the MB of Pahang, support Lynas which produces radioactive waste that will threaten the health of the people, which was why this factory was rejected by the Australians.

Where can you have such irresponsible leaders but in Umno?

Spinnot: If Women, Family and Community Development Minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil has not announced her "resignation", her senatorship will be renewed for another term and she will be re-appointed as a minister by the PM.

As Shahrizat has done no wrong under BN's "ethical" standards, it is a "major sacrifice" on the part of Shahrizat, and I believe this is what the BN leaders, including the DPM, mean.

Anonymous_3f4a: Exactly, why then does DPM Muhyiddin Yassin say Shahrizat has made a 'big sacrifice' by stepping down?

Her resignation ahead of the new parliamentary session is nothing more than an attempt to pull wool over the public's eyes and avoid the scandal being raised in Parliament after charges were brought against her husband a day earlier.

This sort of 'tactical maneuvering' shows the disingenuous nature of Umno-BN government as well as the fictitious nature of its reforms agenda.

Cloudnine: What sacrifice? Rafidah is spot on. Shahrizat was trying to gain public sympathy by carrying a baby and surrounding herself with women and children. What a shame. Her family just whacked RM250 million and you expect us to sympathise with you.

Don't Just Talk: At least, Rafidah is honest with her statement that Shahrizat senatorship expires on April 8, 2012 - meaning she is not quitting on her own accord but her term as a cabinet minister expires automatically.

Unlike the ‘Malay first' DPM Muhyiddin and Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein praising Shahrizat for her sacrifice, which is nonsensical, Rafidah has the courage to call a spade a spade.

Way to go Rafidah, and please tell Shahrizat and her family to return the RM250 million of the taxpayers money, which has been grossly abused for the purchase of two private condos in Bangsar for RM14 million and three private condos in Orchard Road and Marina Bay Sand, Singapore, for RM34 million - all of which are meant for their family investment at the rakyat's expense.

Zafarul Hassan: Obviously, the AP (Approved Permit) queen is upset that she was forced to resign while her nemesis was not.

Chipmunk: Way to go, Madam AP. You hit the nail where Shahrizat is concerned.

Now if only both of you can join WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment), then the rakyat will switch on their TV to watch this fight.

FellowMalaysian: Rafidah is just waiting for the day when she can get back her sleek move and sting Shahrizat like a bee.

Why not arrange a boxing match between you two, and Najib could be the referee?

Anonymous_40c8: For once, I fully agree with what Rafidah said about the shameless senator-minister. She isn't quitting, her job just disappears on April 9.

Onyourtoes: I know there is no sacrifice on Shahrizat's part. You, Rafidah, has made a bigger sacrifice, for you were elected but was not reappointed to the cabinet.

Do you want to know why? Please don't think you are indispensable. Wanita Umno and Miti (Ministry of International Trade and Industry) can go on with its usual moronic way, with you or without you.

I think you are itching to come back, the goodies of the gravy train are just too good to miss.

Fencesitter: Rafidah, please give some face to your friends in Umno, how is DPM going to face his Umno members with your explanation?

Now that Shahrizat influence has shrunk, it is the right time for you to made a comeback provided you are needed by Wanita Umno and the PM.

Bender: Shahrizat and Rafidah can slug it out any way they want for all I care. They're both in the same boat and made out of the same impure material.

They both have their fair share of misdeeds to this country and rakyat, and should not be pointing fingers on each other.

This world is a better place without these two (plus Rosmah if I may add one more).

Abasir: 'Sacrifice' and Umno don't go together. 'Profiteering, scandal and thuggery' do.
