Anti-LGBT rally: Why target Ambiga, not Marina?

YOURSAY 'These Umno underlings are not concerned about pressing social issues. They are merely targeting Ambiga and the Bersih movement.'

1,000 vent anger at anti-LGBT rally

your say Cannon: The waving of keris, mouthing of threats of violence against minority groups, burning of banners, posters and the like - these are the trademark of uneducated Umno goons.

Why confine their protest to gays and lesbians? Why are they not protesting against adultery or sexual promiscuity or the dumping of newly-born infants into rivers and the abandoning of infants in front of suraus?

They protest against free sex, what about paid sex like prostitution? The floodgates of our country are being thrown wide open for illegal immigrants to enter our country freely and turning Kuala Lumpur into an international prostitution capital.

These people should be protesting against the Umno-BN regime for the climate of sleaze, crime, corruption and immorality that is gradually eating up our country.

These Umno underlings are not concerned about pressing social issues. They are merely targeting Ambiga and the Bersih movement.

Anonymous #62211637: "Today I withhold this keris. But if one day I can't tolerate anymore, I will use the keris against the enemy of this land," said Alam Warisan president Azam Moktar to the applauding crowd.

Isn't this statement seditious?

Malaysian Born: Ignorant sheep are being lead around and manipulated into taking positions that they will be really embarrassed to admit in the future.

Instead of being grateful that organisations like the Bar Council and S Ambiga are stepping up and taking proactive stands in the best interests of the country, they go out and help dilute what little freedoms we have.

They don't realise that when you prevent people who are different from being themselves, the same can be done to them too.

Deciding on what is different and what is acceptable is subjective, the tables can get turned very easily.

Anonymous #65104680: I wonder if these bunch of UPM (University Putra Malaysia) students know if their future boss is gay or lesbian, will they burn him or her?

What if these UPM students and members of Jaringan Melayu Malaysia (JMM) find out they have siblings who are gay or lesbian, are they going to burn them?

Or are they going to let God be the judge? So if God is going to judge and punish gays and lesbians, what does it have to do with these UPM students and JMM?

Abusing taxpayers' money is not haram , manipulating the voters' list is not haram ? Behaving like barbarians is good behaviour? Burning a photo of someone who respects the rights of individuals is good teaching?

Anon-23: I am at a loss for words. This is a gathering of a sorry bunch of misguided souls manipulated by Umno for political gain.

They know not what they say or do and, honestly, I feel sorry for them. If you say they are the future leaders of the country, then I can only feel despair.

Lim Chong Leong: Umno has leaders who indulge in free sex, as well as those in MCA and MIC.

Mohd Shafie Apdal, Rahim Thamby Chik, Muhammad Mohd Taib, Chua Soi Lek, DP Vijandran - just to name a few sex scandals involving BN.

Why don't they burn the effigies of these involved? In the end, the rally was just another excuse to rant racist and bigoted rubbish and waving their crooked knives which is beginning to symbolise their crooked ways.

Argonist: Isn't it about time that Malaysians who don't agree with the government policies also start burning effigies of the prime minister and his cohorts?

Everything should go tit-for-tat before the mindless in the country leading the brainless stop their violent attitude.

Freemsia: Ambiga is only fighting for the human rights of the LGBT community. She is not condoning same sex marriage, free sex, etc.

Mat Malaysia: Well done, you bunch of morons. You have just ostracised the entire LGBT community of this country by your unadulterated stupidity.

So guess who the 30 percent of the population won't be voting for? Can we please have more of these demonstrations, thank you. You are giving the opposition a walkover.

Gunner: I hope one day in the future these people will bear offspring who happen to be LBGT and they will know how hard it will be for them to handle the situations. Pity these people.

Disgusted: Only 1,000 turned up for the anti-Ambiga/Pak Samad rally. Let's see how many will turn up for Ambiga/Pak Samad's rally on April 28, perhaps times 1,000.

20121221Disaster: This bunch of students just cannot cast away the character of thugs. This show how destructive the influence of Umno thuggery is in destroying the minds of youngsters.

I myself cannot accept homosexuality. But I cannot go against those involved in homosexuality because I am not one of them and have no knowledge of their problem.

I am a Buddhist. But I respect those who practice other religions. I am also against the marrying of four wives but I am not going to interfere with Muslim practice.

How can we force others from doing those things just because we are not practicing them? This is how wars are created.

Armageddon: (Daughter of former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad) Marina Mahathir is one of the LGBT sympathisers (if not a supporter).

Did the group demonstrate against her as well or they were choosy and selected Pakatan Rakyat members only?

Mangodurian: Seriously, students are not into sex? I really do hope the laws of natural selection will make these species extinct.
