How can an Indian temple be a security problem?

YOURSAY 'The demolition of Hindu temples is part of BN's culture. Have we forgotten the many temples demolished by BN in Selangor?'

Hilmi, Chua in hot water for demolishing shrine

your say Anonymous #88568176: After asking for ‘nambikei' (trust), Prime Minister Najib Razak and his cohorts did this? Clearly they don't care two hoots about the temple when it was demolished without notice.

But they should surely know this temple has been a place of worship for over 40 years. Or did they?

I suppose Penang Port Sdn Bhd chairman Hilmi Yahya and Penang Port Commission chairman Dr Chua Soi Lek have never step out into the port grounds.

It makes one wonder how they run the port.

Don't Just Talk: Penang BN chief Teng Cheng Yow, it looks like MCA chief Chua is doing Gerakan a favour before the 13th general election. MCA does not mind playing Dirty Harry while you ride high on your pedestal.

And I advise you to stop apple polishing Penang Port chairman Hilmi, which was the cause of Koh Tsu Koon's defeat during the 12th GE. Otherwise you will be buried in the same manner like your predecessor.

Justice Kini: This shrine had already been there for many years, yet now it is in state BN chief Teng's words, a "security problem"? Shrines are symbolic to many Hindus.

Again, does it make sense to destroy and then rebuild the temple? The cash spent could have aided the poor and needy.

Louis: Teng is learning fast to talk like Umno leaders. How can a shrine be a security threat? Don't tell me that it breeds terrorists there?

Cascara: The demolition of Hindu shrines and temples is part of BN's culture. Have we forgotten the many temples demolished by BN in Selangor in the past?

Perhaps a rerun of those demolition videos will bring voters back to their senses.

ABU Member: The Indian community must remember what the BN has been doing to them all this while, among others, demolishing their shrines, displaying cow's heads on the street, etc - all acts which showed little respect for the community.

What has MIC done? Nothing. They just kept quiet. Penang CM Lim Guan Eng has indeed done more than the MIC for the Indians.

AnonymousA: For those who badmouth Penang CM Lim over the Kampung Buah Pala incident, for your information, I once spoke with some of the residents who are now residing in double-storey houses, and they said they are forever grateful to Lim for negotiating decent housing for them which they could previously only dream of, but which DAP/Pakatan Rakyat has helped to make it come true.

There is no point bad mouthing Lim Guan Eng as the Penang CM does as he says.

Keturunan Malaysia: Umno troublemakers and their minions have been at pains to pin DAP/Lim down with similar make-believe issues and now they have a real hornet's nest right on their laps.

As they say, heaven always has the final say.

Louis; More often than not, it is the Hindu temples that are demolished without a care for the feelings of Hindus. Why?

Simple - they are taking the Indians for granted. For no matter how BN has offended them, come election day, the Indians will nevertheless dutifully deliver their votes to the ruling coalition just by BN throwing small goodies in their direction.

The Indians have got to wake up. Come what may, give your votes to the opposition to regain your respect.

Ally Meme: Why should Chua care? He is just collecting his paycheck sitting on his butt. One thing is for sure, PM Najib Razak is trying to rebuild BN and his lieutenants are busying trying to tear it down.

Vasudevan: All those responsible for the temple demolition must resign. This is the only honourable thing to do. Hindus, and those who believe in God, must rise to protest such ungodly behaviour.

Borg Kinaulu: BN has no worries about this issue. With the brownie points gained after giving two million ringgit to an Indian building fund and some double-storey houses to some poor Indians, surely BN has gained enough leverage to tear down a few, to them, insignificant temples.

You gain some, you lose some, so stop complaining.

Appum: My dear Hindu brothers and fellow Malaysians, can you see the real Umno-BN, MIC, MCA, Gerakan?

This is the way of the BN for 54 years and yet they claim to carry out "transformation" now. My Hindu brothers, can you be bought over by promises of scholarships, small cash handouts and better school buildings?

Why only now after 54 years of neglect? Ah Jib Gor (Brother Najib) claims the Indians are now supporting BN, with more than 50 percent moving back to BN. It is a sad day for our brothers to be so easily bought over.

AngryBird : Sadly, I fear Indians being Indians will still support Umno-BN despite being trampled upon many times, simply because the current inept government has given them some bones and they feel content with that.
