Once again, Mahathir is afflicted by amnesia

YOURSAY 'Don't trust this old fox. Actually he knows more than he wants to acknowledge about the Project M in Sabah.'

I've 'very little' knowledge of Project IC, says Mahathir

your say Asamko: The little that you knew of Project M (or Project IC) is indeed the blessing for it to go ahead. Of course, you don't want to know the details, but who would dare to carry out such a treasonous project without the approval of the ‘emperor'.

Just answer this simple question - will these low salaried civil servant carry out such a project without instructions from higher authorities?

Anonymous_3f4a: Wow, finally Dr Mahathir Mohamad's memory was failing that he didn't know anything about 'Project M', codenamed after his initial.

For decades, Sabahans have been suffering from large-scale migration of illegals swamping the state, changing beyond recognition the economic, social and political landscapes of the state, and yet the then prime minister didn't know a thing.

What a coincidence. Likewise, Mahathir will also say he didn't know anything the RM30 billion forex debacle .

Cannon: Mahathir knows very little about Project IC and whatever little he knows, he won't be able to remember.

With his selective amnesia, he'll remember enough to blame his deputy as the man behind the project. I suspect, the RCI (royal commission of inquiry) is set up not just to hoodwink the people of Sabah, but to shift the blame and pin it on Anwar Ibrahim.

This is yet another of Najib's ‘sandiwara' (shadow play).

A philandering husband steals his wife's jewellery and gives them away to his mistresses. When his wife notices her jewellery missing, the husband feigns ignorance and helps her search for them in the house. Sabah is like the deceived wife.

If I remember correctly, in the wake of GE12 in 2008, PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi commissioned a panel of inquiry headed by none other than Najib to probe the issue of illegal immigrants in Sabah.

A sum of RM10 million was allocated to the project. What happened to that inquiry and to the RM10 million?

The investigation came to nothing. Now Najib pulls another stunt on the people of Sabah with the onset of GE13. Sabahans should wake up, it's the same regime that gave away your oil fields to Brunei.

You are looking at a treacherous and treasonous regime that has sold you out, again and again. Unless you enjoy being abused, it's time you boot the philandering husband out of your house.

Mahathir is arrogant and shows nothing but contempt for the people. Playing the race card, dividing Malaysians into bumiputeras, non-bumiputeras and pri-bumiputeras - and, this not enough, granting blue ICs to hordes of illegal immigrants entering Sabah - this man is responsible for reducing Sabahans into guests in their own house.

Sadirah K: There were subtle reasons from the conversions of the Kadazans to Islam and the desire to bring in more Muslims to flood the state so as to tilt the electoral balance.

For politicians who have been well-versed in gerrymandering in the mainland , this was the application of the same in Sabah.

From the late former CM Mustapha Harun downwards, they have done this and see the thousands of Indian Muslims and Pakistanis, in addition to Filipinos and Indonesians, who have secured a life in Sabah.

Go through the list and you will be amazed, and now some of them are in the mainland.

How the trust and faith of the ordinary Malaysian has been exploited by these scoundrels is yet another story. I hope all this is revealed by the royal commission.

Odin: Mahathir not only gives a very lame excuse, but he also deceives in only mentioning the Bajau Laut people.

Other ethnic groups have also been made instant citizens. Unfortunately, he is not the only one to blame.

The politicians in the Sabah state government, in particular the chief ministers during and after his time and those of native origin, are also culpable.

These people should have protested. But they have not. They have sold their own people and their state down the river - obviously for pecuniary gains and prestige afforded by the positions they hold.

Kairos: Don't trust this old fox. Actually he not only knows more than he wants to acknowledge, he is actively involved in a lot of dubious decisions.

Of course, the former PM is aware of the problem of passing out blue ICs to the illegal immigrants in Sabah.

We all know that this is carried out purely to boost the population of a certain religion so that the statistics and demographics can be altered.

This is highly dangerous. Ask any Sabahan and they can tell you what's happening at the ground level. It really cheeses me off that politicians like Mahathir can lie through their teeth with a poker face and a cynical grin.

That's why it is incumbent upon the people in Sabah to rise up to register their displeasure at the next GE. Believe me, it will make a great deal of difference.

Ferdtan: If he could, Mahathir would have blamed the Project IC on the hapless Abdullah. Abdullah must be sighing with relief as it was not during his tenure as a PM.

In not so many words, Mahathir finally admitted that it really happened - the issuing of illegal ciitizenship in Sabah to win elections is real.

Now the Bersih 3.0 rally, which accused the Election Commission of having phantom voters in its electoral rolls, possibly from the 'instant-made Malaysians' recruited from foreigners, is justified.

If it can happened in Sabah, it can also happen in Peninsular Malaysia, especially when the survival of BN is at stake.

Umno: This man is full of lies. My friend was working in Pejabat Pendaftaran (Registration Department) in Sabah at that time. Harris Salleh was the CM then. He told my friend that as long as they were Muslims, it was okay to issue them ICs.

Swipenter: I didn't see any single Vietnamese boat refugee running around the country after the Vietnam civil war in the late 70s and 80s. Every single one of them was rounded up and confined in refugee camps or in Pulau Bidong.

I can still remember the huge refugee camp holding thousands of Vietnamese war refugees along Jalan Sungai Besi on the way to Seremban. Mahathir is just talking nonsense.

Already in the early 1990s, there were deliberate moves to let in the right kind of illegal immigrants into the country and later legalised them.

This has everything thing to do with racial politics of which he was the master at it. Maybe he still is. Sad to say, the selling of citizenship for vote is far from over.

Tholu: Mahathir, you can remember crimes that happened during other people's tenure but you can't remember your crimes?

Can you at least remember that you were prime minister of Malaysia once before?
