YOURSAY 'Utusan is racist but it is most racist towards the Malays, because it thinks they will believe all the rubbish it prints.'

DAP rubbishes Utusan report on 'seat dominance'

your say Hanyayangbenar: Umno is clueless on how to counter the growing support of Malaysians for Pakatan Rakyat, so much so that they are now extremely afraid of losing power in next GE.

So their ultimate weapon is to keep harping on DAP dominating the country, putting the fear of losing Malay leadership if Pakatan is voted to power. And their target is primarily the rural Malays who only read Malay-language newspapers.

Yap CS: Utusan Malaysia is racist but it is most racist towards the Malays, because it thinks that the Malays will believe all the rubbish it prints. The truth is, Utusan has a very low opinion of the intelligence and maturity of the Malays.

Ferdtan: In the West, for personal or political reasons, Islam and Muslims have been targeted regularly.

The 'Islamophobia', an irrational fear or prejudice towards Islam and Muslims, is being spread and encouraged, sometimes by the mainstream leaders, to keep the minority sector of the community docile.

From the events recently, starting from the salvos by former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad hitting hard especially on the Chinese community, Umno has adopted the strategy of divisive racial politics.

He called the Chinese ‘kingmakers' to spook the Malays about losing power. Indirectly, he is calling for Malay unity to counterbalance the danger. The increasingly vile racist rhetoric that he spews makes it clear this is the path Umno has chosen.

Beware Malaysians, brace yourself for more racist attacks by the bigots within and outside of the mainstream media. The Malaysian version of Islamophobia, Chinophobia, is here.

The Indians this time will probably be left alone after the 'hang Ambiga' fiasco, as they are still needed for their votes to boost BN.

Anoymous: Sometimes it is quite obvious that Utusan just wants to mislead the Malay readers, especially the kampung folks.

It is not bothered if other races want to read their paper or not. So it is pointless to lambast them.

YF: Umno must think that all Malays are stupid. When Pakatan won Perak, the menteri besar post went to PAS even though DAP won the most seats, and PAS the least.

So why does Umno continue to belittle the minds of the Malays? The reason being, Umno is not for the Malays but for the likes of Mahathir.

MfM: Let's just say the Utusan report is true.

DAP for all intents is contesting only in seats it knows it's going to win. PAS goes head to head with Umno and we know how that will fare for PAS - in the east coast they will be able to succeed, but not likely in the west.

This leaves it down to PKR to actually take on the urban seats, which is what DAP should do - leave the urban seats in major areas with mixed populations to PKR - they are the only truly multiracial party in Pakatan Rakyat and the only one with a leader (Anwar Ibrahim) who is a gigantic vote magnet.

DAP's swift response to Utusan is what worries me the most - most of the time, they don't really care, but this time the astonishingly fast response means there may be some truth to the report.

DAP may think they have the strength to wrest power from the other Pakatan partners and put in a proxy, just like in Perak before the coup. My trust in DAP is waning.

Giudice: Mfm, your trust in DAP is waning based on one report by Utusan ? It says a lot about your trust in DAP, doesn't it?

And because DAP responded immediately, that worries you? And if DAP did not respond immediately, would you feel better?

Come on, exercise a bit of care in your analysis. And use logic for God's sake. Malaysia has a Malay-majority population. If the Malays do not support a non-Malay PM, how long will he or she last?

Myop101: MfM, as a party that continuously being painted as Chinese chauvinist, DAP took strides to discard this perception by highlighting they are multiracial. The sad part is, they are being hammered every single day because of this.

Didn't you notice how they are trying hard to shed this lopsided perception? What would you expect a shell-shocked and cornered party do to fight lies and hearsays?

Having said that, the seats to be contested by which opposition party will be revealed sooner rather than later. If DAP is contesting more seats than PKR and PAS, it still not too late to decide not to vote for them.

Pendatang: The irony is that while Umno- Utusan fans this fear of DAP taking power, MCA fans fears amongst the Chinese that DAP will always have to bow down to PAS even if they win the most seats, quoting the very same Perak example.

Either they think we are that stupid for not noticing the contradiction, or they don't care what we think. I tend to believe it's the latter.

Rick Teo: Frankly, I am sick and tired of people who keep on saying we must have a Malay prime minister or chief minister.

What's the point of having a Malay leader who is corrupt and who doesn't give a hoot about the country, but only wants to rob the country to give to his family and cronies?

I would prefer you give me even an Indian or Chinese or Iban PM if he can be honest and work diligently for the country. Indeed, who cares whether the cat is black or white so long as it can catch the mice.

Good Men: Is this the best they can come up with? The Utusan boys are pathetic.
