YOURSAY 'Unlike BN, Pakatan leaders can easily retire in peace because they have good young leaders in their wings.'
GE13 also do-or-die for Pakatan oldies, says Chua
Anonymous #58458950: In attending a DAP ceramah recently, I was most impressed by a strong group of second liners who can easily take over leadership when necessary.
These are educated and intelligent, and of a different and more superior calibre than those in BN. There is no need to bank too much on the current leaders who can retire tomorrow. The party is in secure hands.
Taikohtai: Unlike BN, Pakatan Rakyat leaders can easily retire in peace because they have good young leaders in their wings. Thanks to BN, Pakatan's second echelon is battle hardened while BN's is softer than ice cream.
Multi Racial: MCA chief Chua Soi Lek has got is all wrong. It is not about age of our leaders, it is about their integrity and sincerity in wanting to develop this nation.
Between Pakatan and BN, there is really nothing much to compare. Pakatan candidates are way ahead of their BN counterparts.
Ex-wfw: Chua, since your party is based on representing the Chinese community, have you taken a survey of the SMI (small and medium industry) associations lately?
You know that all the ardent MCA representatives have been mostly voted out or sidelined. The business sector of your community had been MCA strength, so what now?
You must still be dreaming of business as usual with BN as you have nothing to talk about except hudud and trying to pin Selangor MB Khalid Ibrahim as a poor leader.
By whose standard? If by BN's, then Khalid is definitely an A grade.
ONG: Chua has to plead to his party delegates not to sabotage their own party's candidates in the next general election. What does that tell us about MCA? How much more pathetic can things get?
Mushiro: The next GE is also a do-or-die for Umno and BN. If Pakatan wins the GE, Umno and BN will disintegrate. The current leaders in Umno and BN cannot survive without the gravy train and are not resilient to the hard life of being opposition politicians.
Onyourtoes: Shame on you, CSL (Chua Soi Lek); you and those in BN were incumbents for more than five decades and what have you achieved?
A broken, dispirited and disarrayed nation, uncompetitive and with quality of life that is getting worse and with escalating crime rates.
How dare you talk about DAP leaders Lim Kit Siang and Karpal Singh? These people spent a lifetime, going in and out of prison, fighting for a cause which renegades like you will never understand.
We are glad we have Kit Siang, who has kept the spirit of democracy alive in this country. Without him, I think Malaysia would have become a nincompoop country a long time ago.
Because of your own personal interest, you have no shame to condemn true nationalists. What did people like Kit Siang and Karpal Singh get from their participation in politics?
Sabm: Talking about consistency. DAP has LKS (Lim Kit Siang) as their leader since Day 1. MCA has nine leaders to-date, starting with Tan Cheng Lock (Mr Alpha) and ending with Chua Soi Lek (Mr Omega).
Anwar to retire if he loses next polls
Malayamuda: If I was Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim and with the whole government against me, I would have long quit. This man is definitely something.
He has the strength to go on and fight. He is definitely Allah's blessings to the people of Malaysia and a good role model for the younger generation.
Anonymous #03078561: Anwar, perhaps you should think of retirement even if PKR wins as many of us in the rakyat don't think you will make a good PM.
We want change and that change should include training a new group of intellectual and educated, God-fearing and honest young leaders to lead the country onwards to 2020.
You probably know who the 'second liners' within your party can lead - for once, retire and earn respect from all the rakyat.
Ericlcc: It matters not whether Anwar will be around or not, what is more important is that the nation can ill-afford another five years of Umno-led rule.
Already we are on the brink of bankruptcy, our national debt has apparently surpassed the statutory limit allowed, we face a higher cost of living, a poor retail economy, endemic corruption at every level of government, dwindling energy resources, a super bloated high paying civil service, the lack of political will to maintain rule of law, ‘Malaysia Truly Asia' taking over local jobs, an increasing crime index and a divisive nation.
Whether one like it or not, Anwar has got to lead this nation out of the current predicament because there is none in the horizon who can. For the sake of our children and their children's future, don't repeat the mistakes we made in the past by voting BN.
Fair Play: In the short history of our nation, GE13 is the best opportunity for the rakyat to chart a better future for their children and their children's children. If they are unable or unwilling, the real loser is certainly not DSAI (Anwar) for he is just the beacon.
There is no prize for guessing who are the real losers.
AnonymousA: Some may not like Anwar but the fact is, he is the man who holds Pakatan together. He has done and sacrificed much.
My hope is to see him as the next PM come 13th GE. Yes, I too, if we cannot make it this time, will quit my adopted country because I have had enough of living among the morons for 55 years. Make or break, the choice is ours.
