YOURSAY 'Who's the traitor? The people who abuse power and misuse the rakyat's money or the people who report facts?'

Utusan: Malaysiakini must 'apologise to Malaysians'

YK Chua: Being a mouthpiece of Umno already disqualifies Utusan Malaysia from commenting on the independence of Malaysiakini .

I am completely satisfied with Malaysiakini as a very useful alternative media, otherwise we will continue to be fed on a daily basis with all the filth coming out of Utusan , New Straits Times and The Star .

Aries46: I think it would be a criminal waste of time and an exercise in futility to try and rebut the allegations against Malaysiakini and to justify its distinct moral high ground as a legitimate independent news media that is not subservient to any quarters as is an established norm in certain MSM (mainstream media) owned and controlled by the ruling elite.

Some of these so-called MSM are mere mouthpieces of the corrupt and decadent with its larger objective of protecting wrongdoers, covering up scandals and concealing the truth from the rakyat.

Malaysiakini must stand up to any kind of threat from sources who are envious of its success as a new media that exposes the shenanigans of these wrongdoers.

Full Of Crap: To hell with Malaysiakini apologising. Instead Utusan should apologise to all Malaysians for their articles which fanned racism by BN government, for not condemning the BN government for their lies, corruption and abuse of power, and for their writing wild allegations of various opposition members and parties.

Telestai!: So who's the traitor? The people who abuse power and misuse the rakyat's money or the people who report facts?

Utusan should stop dishing out nonsense. Just because a news portal doesn't support Umno, it suddenly becomes a tool of foreigners. Let there be no misunderstanding that Utusan is a bankrupt mediahouse propped up by Umno and hence a puppet of Umno.

Mat Malaysia: I have just gone through Utusan Melayu (M) Bhd company search. Unsatisfied debts to the tune of RM420 million. Last year's profit after tax only RM2.26 million... hmmm.

Armageddon: Utusan , is it wrong to dislike our PM? We respect or recognise him as the PM because BN hold more seats, but we don't have to like him, do we?

It is our democratic right to prefer whoever we think fit to be the next PM. Why is it that Utusan still doesn't understand the basic principle of democracy?

WSLAm: Don't forget that Utusan had admitted to spinning news to favour the ruling regime.

Louis: If this connection of billionaire financier George Soros failed, I will not be surprised they will come up with another bigger allegation: Malaysiakini's chairman is Mao Zedong himself.

Umno is very desperate to win. Telling big lies is no longer an issue despite the fact that it is totally against Islamic principles.

Roadrunner: Let it be known that I take great offence for including me in Utusan's call that "all Malaysians" should demand an apology from Malaysiakini .

I am a Malaysian and I strongly object to Utusan's inclusion of me in its stupid demand.

Instead I demand an apology from Utusan for admitting that their articles are spun in favour of Umno, thereby giving us lies and half-truths.

Cantabrigian: Why would Malaysiakini apologise to anyone? It is a free online website (subscribers get more privileges) and no one is forced to read it.

If Malaysiakini said something wrong, just sue them. Utusan is just mad because Malaysiakini has more readers.

If Utusan is a real commercial entity, the company should have wound-up by now, but it continues to survive because of it is helped with Umno's money.

Odin: Yes, Malaysiakini must apologise to all Malaysians - for starting very late (on Nov 20, 1999).

It should have opened for business when Dr Mahathir Mohamad became prime minister (1981), so that Malaysians would have been suitably apprised of all the dirty deeds perpetrated by him, his party and immediate successor.

Tholu: The funding of an independent news portal by a foreign organisation does not compromise the sovereignty of the nation as much as the alleged selling of defence secrets to arms maker DCNS for RM142 million by Terasasi.

So what if Malaysiakini , through its news and reports, appear to favour the opposition rather than the government? As long as it does not spread falsehood and reports only the truth, it cannot be accused of ‘selling' the nation.

On the other hand, it is Utusan that is a source of grave danger to the unity and harmony of the various races and religions of this country through irresponsible reports that it has spun in order to make the opposition look like a devil and the government an angel.

It is Utusan that must apologise to the people for jeopardising the peace and unity of Malaysians in this country.

Anonymous #19098644: Utusan should ask PM Najib Razak and his cronies how they could have sold information about the Malaysian Navy to the French. That is nothing short of treason.

Starr: What has Malaysiakini done to be apologetic about? Having foreigners to invest and take a seat on its board is a normal commercial practice - there's absolutely nothing wrong with it.

To say that having foreign interests in the equity of Malaysiakini is compromising the sovereignty of country is utterly absurd and taking the issue completely out of context. Don't the GLCs (government-linked companies) listed on Bursa Malaysia have foreign investors who are also represented on their boards?

Does it mean that such companies are also selling out national interests to foreigners affecting the sovereignty of the country? Is the government not using a foreign public relations firm, Apco, to improve Najib's image overseas?

Blind Freddo: Would all Malaysians who have problems dealing with the truth, please form a queue so that Malaysiakini can apologise for shattering your delusions.
