YOURSAY 'He should stand by his promise to Sugumar's family and insist that the Thai government allow Dr Pornthip to perform the post-mortem.'

Thais fear M'sian gov't displeasure over Pornthip

your say Sabahan: PM Najib Razak should stand by his promise to C Sugumar's family and insist the Thai government to allow its forensic pathologist Dr Pornthip Rojanasunand to perform the post-mortem. Otherwise, it is ‘Janji Tidak Ditepati'.

Vijay47: Disregarding the point that the Thai government had allowed a foreign government to dictate to it - despite Pornthip not being invited for the Sugumar case as a Thai government servant but in her personal capacity in view of her renowned expertise - one fact sticks out like the proverbial sore thumb.

If Najib must twist the arm of the Thai prime minister to prevent Pornthip from carrying out her professional duty (nobody believes he did not), it must mean only thing - that there is much hidden and much more to hide in how the poor man died.

It looks like dead men do tell tales.

Cala: Even though there was no incriminating evidence pointing to Umno-led BN regime's role in dissuading Pornthip from performing the second autopsy on Sugumar, it remains the suspect all the same judging from the Teoh Beng Hock episode.

Who will benefit if the truth is not revealed?

Apa Nama: To the Thai Justice Ministry, in fact we do not want to cause any displeasure in the cordial relationship between two countries, but we do not trust the first post-mortem in both the cases involving Teoh and Sugumar.

We need a second and independent opinion. In the Teoh case, Dr Pronthip had come up with a reasonable doubt, which our own pathologist failed.

If the relationship between two countries is more important than justice, what else can we do to ensure justice for the dead?

Mahashitla: The duty of a professional as in the case of pathologist Pornthip is to report the truth as it is. Her professional duty is not to please the Malaysian government or the victims' family but to say what the deceased cannot say based on her findings.

If the Thai Ministry of Justice cannot accept such professional reporting, how then can they call themselves a justice department?

Little Hantu: Don't worry, Dr Pornthip - Malaysia's PM ensures that Malaysia is the world's best democracy.

He also said he will leave no stone unturned in Teoh case. So it's okay if you don't believe him because most of us, too, don't believe him anymore...

Najib pressured Thai PM to stop Pornthip, claims PKR

Pemerhati: We know that Najib likes ‘Gangnam Style', but what then is ‘Najib Style'? He actively promotes his ‘1Malaysia' slogan, but at the same time vigorously promotes Umno's racist and supremacist policies that divide the people.

He even has that despicable organisation called the National Civics Bureau (BTN) in his ministry to brainwash and promote the apartheid-like supremacist policies.

He boasts that he always keeps his promises ( janji ditepati'), but the reality is that it's just one big lie when you look at how he hypocritically promised Teoh Beng Hock's family that the truth behind his death would be revealed.

In the end, Teoh's Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) murderers - who were actually helping Najib to try and topple the Selangor government - were given protection and never brought to justice.

Thus, Najib's style is to essentially try and fool the people by promoting false slogans and making false promises. Only a fool or a very naive person would believe anything that the PM says.

Heavywater.: Of course, Najib would be doing the clean-up, or in this case, cover-up. He is afraid that if he didn't do so, they will be turning against him.

He is definitely a weak leader, and a desperate one at that. He is also stupid, it's already this close to the general election and he is still covering up for his cronies.

Najib should in fact be staying up all night coming up with genuine answers to carpet trader Deepak Jaikishan's allegations, or does he think that by continuing to ignore him, everything will be okay?

Fairview: On one hand, he pretends to look good - at least to Sugumar's family - by asking for a forensic report on the death to be submitted to the cabinet.

On the other hand, he works quietly behind the scenes to sabotage the family's effort in getting Pornthip's assistance. This is Najib's trademark. He shouts ‘1Malaysia', but subcontracts the dirty work to Perkasa's Ibrahim Ali.

JMC: Is the relationship between two countries more important than justice for their citizens? Shouldn't such a relationship be based on mutual respect and the manner in which the citizens are treated?

I wonder if the Indians still want to give Najib and BN their ‘nambikei' for another five years.

Anonymous #43051382: So Hindraf, what's next? Suck up to Najib?

Let me tell you this: With or without Hindraf, the majority of Indians and other non-bumiputeras will be voting for Pakatan Rakyat in GE13 to restore justice, fairness and to stop corruption.

Sontha Makkal: This is ‘justice', Malaysia style. No need to rock the boat because Umno-BN is already sinking fast.
