Five companies have been shortlisted by Pengurusan Aset Air Bhd (PAAB), for the RM1.2 billion 1130 million litres per day (MLD) water treatment plant, which is part of the larger Langat 2 water treatment facility, sources say.

The five companies are IJM Corp Bhd, Gamuda Bhd, UEM Construction Sdn Bhd, a joint venture between Salcon Bhd, MMC Corp Bhd and Ahmad Zaki Resources Bhd (AZRB), and Asia Baru Construction Sdn Bhd.

Officials from PAAB did not want to comment when contacted by KiniBiz .

Industry sources however say that PAAB’s board is likely to deliberate on the bids and make a recommendation to the Finance Ministry by the month’s end.

“It’s the usual suspects... all the big names are in. IJM, Gamuda, UEM,” one of the bidders said.
