What will Hindraf do if its blueprint isn't implemented?

YOURSAY 'What is the point of you shouting from the outside when your leader, Waythamoorthy, is already part of the government?'

Penang Hindraf hits out at PM over blueprint delay

your say Anticommunalist: Hindraf made all the correct moves. Persatuan Hindraf chairperson P Waythamoorthy returned to Malaysia from the United Kingdom after filing the British civil suit.

Critics claimed he had fled the country and would never come back. But he did. Critics claimed he would never file the British civil suit. But he did. Critics claimed that Hindraf was dead and buried. But they were proven wrong by the thousands who came to hear Waytha out on his return.

Waytha had gone on a nationwide tour and asked for their mandate on the next proposed move. The Indians overwhelmingly gave their mandate for Hindraf to pursue the MOU (memorandum of understanding) and offer it to both parties.

Pakatan Rakyat was giving it the runaround and BN came forward. What was Hindraf to do? Reject it?

Which minority party in this country has ever managed to get both political parties to come forward to the negotiating table? Hindraf did it. It was done in an open and transparent way.

It got the premier to make a public apology to the Indians and even give a public signing ceremony. Critics claimed Hindraf was bought over but to date, no proof has ever materialised.

Critics claimed Hindraf will keep quiet and become another MIC but are being proven wrong today. So the question arises - what will Hindraf do if the MOU isn't implemented?

That remains to be seen. But as always, Hindraf will never fail to surprise.

Datos: Hindraf, the way the three BN ministers treated Waytha is an outright insult and a slap on Premier Najib Abdul Razak's face, unless he himself planned it. You fellas are lepers in the BN colony.

The memorandum is in the dustbin. It will be picked up four and a half years from now - if it is still in the dustbin - dusted, and discussed with Waytha, if he is still around.

After 50-odd years, you thought you could fix the Indian plight with a quick fix. You can be brave and equally stupid.

Straight Talk Joe 51: A memorandum of understanding is just to understand the memorandum. The next step is to discuss whatever content that they don't understand. Implementation now? Come on, not so fast.

Sarajun Hoda: Don't complain, Hindraf. At the 11th hour, Hindraf led by Waytha, committed treason to the Indian community by taking BN's side in GE13.

Otherwise Pakatan would have won and we would have a new government. Because of your betrayal, we got back the same corrupted, insincere and ungrateful government.

Hindraf is a traitor to Indian Malaysians. Now you should celebrate. Please go and enjoy ‘Tanda Putera'.

Chong Kak Fang: Hindraf, ‘Ah Jib Gor' promised to look into your blueprint but never promised to implement them. You must be dreaming if you think they will look into your plight.

Fernz: I agree that Waytha should be given a chance. But knowing Umno, they will play out the Indians again. It's naive to say that they must be given the benefit of the doubt. Let's not kid ourselves.

Why should Umno agree to anything for the Indians? They don't need Indian votes to remain in power. It's Pakatan that needs Indians to help them come to power. However, Pakatan won't be able to take Putrajaya unless they can get half of the seats in Sabah and Sarawak.

This will never happen. At best, they can only get a third. So, they need crossovers in Borneo. The bottom line is that Umno does not need to accommodate the Indians.

MIC leaders have long realised this and so just pay lip service to the Indian plight while collecting some crumbs and scraps for themselves from the Umno table. Indians must unite and vote against whoever is in Putrajaya.

Aswathaama: In the 2008 election, Hindraf voted for Pakatan on Waytha's instructions. Pakatan betrayed Hindraf. Pakatan demolished Kg Buah Pala and Kuala Ketil cemetery.

Anwar Ibrahim was too confident of winning the next election, he refused to engage Hindraf. Waytha had to choose between the two devils, thus the signing of the MOU with BN.

If Hindraf had supported Pakatan in the last election, Pakatan may have won the election but it would not have implemented the blueprint, and would have given the excuse that they had just come to power and need another five years to implement it.

So both Umno and Pakatan are devils. We have to form a third party.

CCR: Umno destroyed the bridge (the blueprint) after crossing the bridge (GE13), leaving behind their friends (the Indian community). The question is, can Umno be trusted?

From Penang: What is the point of you still shouting from the outside when your leader, Waythamoorthy, is already part of the government?

When there is no progress, don't you think you should be shouting at Waythamoorthy instead?

Anonymous_3ee4: It's only been 100 plus days, the PM has better things to do then to look at some so-called blueprint... are you sure it was not written in transparent ink? Maybe it washed off after a few days.
