Competent or not, MB should toe party line

FREE YOURSAY ‘Khalid is a politician, he should listen to the party.’

Apologetic MB says this is price of integrity

Anonymous_3f4b: Khalid Ibrahim is the victim of the internal politics of PKR power play. In the bid to put a crony as the new Selangor MB which smacks of nepotism, PKR was prepared to fling mud at Khalid and kicked him out of the party.

There is no honour in politics and politicians who do not play to the gallery have to be sacrificed for political expediency. Khalid, in spite of his defects, is still the best MB that Selangor has to offer.

He is not guilty of any serious misdeeds and corrupt behaviour. PKR’s lambasting of this man are mere allegations without any iota of proof and Pakatan supporters lap it up with relish.

Khalid is even prepared to be investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and he even lodge a report against himself. Which politician will do the same?

Anonymous$&@?: Khalid is a politician, crony or no crony, he should listen to the party. He shouldn’t be talking about integrity when he is taking the whole Pakatan Rakyat government hostage.

Kindly explain please, to the Khalid supporters - you mean it's okay for an individual to take the government hostage?

Casey: Khalid spoke of "integrity" and the price he's paying for upholding it. I searched the dictionary to see if I'd misunderstood the meaning of the word.

What I can come up with is something like "the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles”.

There are synonyms: honesty, uprightness, probity, rectitude, honour, principle, ethics, morals, righteousness, nobility, high-mindedness, right-mindedness, noble-mindedness, virtue, decency, fairness, scrupulousness, sincerity, truthfulness, trustworthiness...

Which of these words should we choose to describe Khalid Ibrahim?

Eyespye: There are, in my mind, only two possible reasons for TSKI (Khalid) not stepping down. Pride/hubris, or he feels he has a duty to protect Selangor from Pakatan and PKR.

U-Say I-Say: Khalid is not a victim of integrity but a victim of ego and stubbornness on one part and the manipulation of  political opportunists from certain factions within Pakatan, aided by behind-the-scene power-brokers from the opposite side of the political divide on the other part.

Ketuanan Rakyat: What integrity you are talking about, Khalid? You seem to have some integrity during your first term in office, not now due to your own uncalled for provocative actions after you were appointed MB for the second term.

Please leave immediately without causing any further embarrassment to yourself. You only have the support of 12 Umno assembly representatives in the House. More than two-thirds support is now with Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

Korkor: TSKI, you should have toe the party line and exit with honour when you are asked to.

It’s the party that gave you the right to be the MB and when you have fell out of favour, it’s time for you to go.

Just to let go the position would have given you much more integrity then clinging to the MB’s post and causing so much anxiety for all of us Selangorians.

Anonymous_1395475602: As a Pakatan voter, I was really interested to hear Khalid's explanation on his dealings with Bank Islam.

Sadly, his refusal to answer these allegations gives us no choice but to draw our own conclusion. What a shame, he started off so well.

J Ng: Khalid has clearly shown that he is a man of no integrity. He used to appear honest and down to earth.

His actions and collaborations with his party political opponents reflect his vindictive and revengeful character. He is prepared to betray his colleagues and destroy his party, irrespective of moral principles.

His apology to the public is insincere as he doesn't care about public sentiments. He is truly a man of no Integrity. Whatever integrity that he may have in the past, all are destroyed by his actions.

The Mask: Khalid, you want to know what is integrity? Then follow in the footsteps of the MRT Corp CEO Azhar Abdul Hamid who resigned immediately after three workers died under his watch.

This is the first in Malaysia and Azhar will go down in history as a really towering Malaysian.

Lamborghini: Khalid, self-praise is not a virtue but a disgrace. If other people praise you for your integrity, then it is honourable.

But if you say you have integrity but others who know you say you are not, then your claim is less than honourable or credible.

The way you clung on to power even after being sacked from your party, sacked your state exco and try to hide behind the sultan was not the action of an honourable man.

How can you claim to be a man of integrity when everything is disintegrating around you because of your character and actions?

Rubicon: Khalid’s integrity went out of the window the day he went to ROS (Registrar of Societies).
