ROS summons PKR over Khalid's sacking

Senior Citizen: This does not speak well of the government. The Registrar of Societies (ROS) is there to register societies and political parties.

Each society has got its own rules and regulations, so I guess a copy of these rules is submitted to the ROS. If all is well, then the society is registered.

The ROS does not run these societies. It is none of their business. Period.

The disciplinary board is part of an organisation's structure. If a member is found to be undisciplined then it is the right of the board to conduct an inquiry and make its own decisions. The guilty are then subject to the punishment of the board.

Of course, the guilty will always say that it’s unfair. They then use the ROS to fight the verdict, causing maximum damage to the organisation. This must stop.

Banzai: It’s for the ROS to ensure that the constitution of the society has been abided by

Selangor MB Khalid Ibrahim had been issued with a show-cause letter and had been directed to appeal to the disciplinary committee, but he did not. What else can PKR do other than to sack him?

Fair Play: There are two possible outcomes as a result of this 'investigation' by ROS.

1. Khalid might be reinstated as a member, but to what purpose? He is already a pariah. Besides, his position as MB is beyond the powers of the ROS.

2. ROS de-registers PKR as a punishment. All members of the de-registered PKR would probably join DAP.

The end result would be the renaming of DAP as DAP Keadilan Party of Malaysia (DKP) and this new political party might establish a historic milestone with Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as president and Lim Kit Siang as deputy president.

A better tomorrow is right at our doorstep if only PKR and DAP could capitalise on this and turn it into collective strength.

Haveagreatday: Well, I reckon PKR can form PKR Baru if ROS deregisters it for whatever purported transgressions. But let's hope this PKR Baru will have learnt from the mistakes of the past.

Ketuanan Rakyat: Umnoputras' cronies in government agencies are very quick to act on opposition parties over alleged wrongdoings. Why are similar actions not taken when BN parties do even worse things to keep themselves in power?

Bluemountains: Khalid is not going to be MB again even if his membership is reinstated. Wan Azizah (Kak Wan) can still be MB even if PKR is deregistered as long as she can command the majority support of the assemblypersons. This is just a minor nuisance.

Behsaikong: In this land, the best barometer on the right political move is when the powers-that-be lose next to no time to move against you.

Going by this, the Kajang move is right because Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim's Sodomy II case was brought forward. Similarly, the party's sacking of the MB is also correct; you know this by the ROS move.

It never fails: if you make the right move, they would come to get you. Why would they move if not for the fact that your move is deemed by them as potent?

Anonymous_1388029052: Who says ROS is not efficient? It all depends on who the culprit is.

Lamborghini: This is a classic example of abuse of power by the government. Please don't use silly technicalities of law to hinder what is legitimate.

Mushiro: ROS has still not approved the registration of Pakatan and this has been a few years already with no indication of a possible approval anytime soon.

When the original Umno was deregistered in 1988, ROS took only one day to approve the registration of Umno Baru. This must be a world record.

The Umno Baru application was submitted to ROS at 4pm on Friday and ROS approved the new political party on Monday around 10am. This is hardly one working day.

Fair&Just: There are two kinds of justice in Bohongland - the dark kind or black justice which those in authority usually dish out to the rakyat and another kind of justice that is fair and just, which the rakyat is demanding from them.

Guns 'n' Roses: I wonder what this arrogant recalcitrant illegal MB will do next to inflict maximum damage on PKR-Pakatan before he leaves office.

So much for his love for his former party. How do you respect this kind of person?

Vijay47: I think that for the next Olympics, Malaysia should send the head of ROS for the 100 metres event. He is faster than even world's champion Usain Bolt.
